John 12:24-26

(Jesus said,) "I tell you the truth, unless a kernal of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me."

Just as a seed has to fall apart before it begins to grow, so also a person who chooses the way of God must "bury" the old man before they can begin the new life.

The first part is a double meaning. His crucifixion and the message of discipleship. The second part:

Jesus mentioned that those with wealth that is their conciliation price. For most of them love their lives for the wrong reasons. Hence, most of them will go to Hell. Not all of them.

Second, those who hate their lives, since they can't find Jesus are the ones who keep coming back into this world for another chance. Hence the name "past-lives."

Third, those who love G-- (not necessarily follow Jesus, but the footsteps of Jesus or the path to enlightenment) will live for eternity in the Kingdom of Heaven

It means for gods children he created gravity so that the seed will fall to the ground and die. Much like the love between a man and a wife wanes when she is constantly nagging/serving him.

This means that when you love your life- your life in THIS world - cars, money, your reputation, so on and so forth, then you aren't putting God first. If you love your life more than eternal salvation - you will lose your life to eternal damnation.

BUT if you hate your life - meaning you find true happiness in God - in eternal salvation and you will live in eternity with God - the creator of this universe. You must lose your life - (not meaning sell everything you have) but become a person dedicated to Christ - not afraid to tell anyone and everyone about your salvation- able to show your salvation through actions. Be as Christ like as possible (it is impossible, but we must try!)
That is what it means to be a Christian - to 'lose' our earthly loves and gain eternal ones!

Just as there are good and evil, there are two different lives or paths to live. If we choose to live the life as a follower of Jesus we must quit our sinful life (die in the flesh) and choose to live a more holy and righteous life (reborn in the spirit). After we have been reborn in the spirit we must spread the gospel of Jesus. When someone hears us spreading the word of God and believes and is converted, we have produced fruit acceptable to God. A reward awaits us in heaven. "Beautiful are the feet of those that spread the gospel of peace".

this is what God showed me about this scripture:

when you die to this world u will produce much spiritual and natural fruit/seeds.

hate your life, your worldly, fleshy desires kinda life, and you will find eternal life in Jesus and a good life here too, coz ur walking in the spirit not in the flesh.

love a fleshy carnal life, and loose eternal life. coz u cant have two kings. its either God or the devil.

serve God genuinely and wholeheartedly and you will be rewarded greatly. God the Father will honour one who follows Jesus and LIVES out there Christianity, not just proclaims it.

by the kernel of wheat dying, it will sprout and become a new plant and produce many seeds.
the man who loves his life IE the materialistic who thinks life is a party will not be redeemed and go on to eternity
while the man who hates his life here - and sees all that's wrong and suffers the enlightened and thus burdened soul, through faith will go on to eternity
My Father will honor the one who serves me - no man shall go to my father but by me - have faith and love for jesus first. having love for him and his deeds will see you through to eternity

It can be taken literally. It can also mean the old self dying and the newborn self bear fruit abundantly. As what Paul said: "Part of me dies everyday".
