IDK. Do you tithe 10%? Do you believe you will get something back from God?

I have tithed and learned that I do better financially that when I didn't. God can make the 90% go further that the 100%. I don't have things break down and have to be replaced hardly ever and all the family is well and not in the hospital running up bills The measure that you give over the tithe is the measure that God uses to bless you back. Give and it shall be given to you pressed down running over shall men give to you bosom. You cant out give God, He is faithful. I give the tithe to the store house(my local church) and offerings some to church and some to christian ministries that feed the hungry and take medicine ti the poor.

I tithe - because I wish to.
I have for decades and, honestly, haven't missed a dime of it.
If it keeps you from attending, don't bother.

Yes I claim it on my taxes.
If the IRS decided to disallow it that wouldn't change anything.

No it's not defeating a purpose. It's used to further God's kingdom.

Expecting to get something back? Yes. An eternity in the presence of the Lord. Not because of my tithing. Not because of anything that I've done. Solely by the grace of God.

i havent taken much thought to claiming it on tax. i guess u could do so u had more to give. will give me something to pray about, thanks.

what do i think about tithing? well i looked into it, coz people were saying its not necessary, coz its not in the new testament... but it IS in the new Testament....

more than once, but here is the easiest one to learn from:
(Jesus speaking):
Matthew 23:23
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, WITHOUT LEAVING THE OTHERS UNDONE."
(caps added by me)

so you see, tithing is still considered a necessity, but is pointless without the deeper things of God. u cant give money and expect that to cover sins or give u an excuse to not help people in other ways etc.

i tithe because im greatful to God. not because i have to. i do it with a glad heart, not a bitter one, and God's word says that He loves a CHEERFUL giver. not a pressured sad sack.

tithing, actually benefits you personally anyways, coz God tells us to try Him in it, that He will pour out a blessing. the more i tithe, the more im blessed financially. i get it all back somehow, God is so clever. i love giving to Him to help His kingdom grow, and its a bonus to see His financial prosperity promises are true also.

i suggest doing a word study on tithing, or listen to a message by Creflo Dollar who teaches a great few msgs on todays tithing truths. (and no, hes not just after ur money, he has his own businesses that he runs outside the church to support him and his familys luxurys, so he doesnt use the tithes of his church for himself anyway, so u can listen knowing he is preaching God's word truthfully, and its not benefeting him.)

Tithing in the Bible was for the business of administering the temple responsibilities.

Tithing among Christians is voluntary.

You may deduct it if it is a non-profit organization you are giving to. For most people the deduction is a moot issue because it will seldom amount to enough to matter. Most people do not itemize.

If your Jewish and the Temple still exists it applies to you! Otherwise== It is a PLY to squeeze money out of the congregation!

Christians do NOT need to keep the old Levitical Laws!
No Sabbath keeping is necessary, no Tithing, Vegetarianism, etc.

It is a charitable donation on your taxes and you should claim any receipts for registered charities.
