I know you're supposed to drink a certain amount of water a day, but can I count coffee and tea as water? How about juice? Beer?

Yes, you should count coffee and black tea - as a minus!!

Reason: They are dehydrating.

As a doctor told me, our body is actually not built to get calories/energy with liquid, except as a child, so better drink as little beer or fruit juice as possible. Both contain more energy than milk and can make you fat as well...

So the best is to stick to water to get your liquid intake recommended.

I don't know about juice as water intake, but I do know that beer and coffee won't cut it. Water's water. And, like whiskey, should be enjoyed straight. Haha.

For real, though, if it's hot where you live, a gallon of water a day. No joke. When I lived in the SW US, I drank at least a gallon a day. Keeps you running and makes you feel good.

No, i wouldn't count it. Water is just water. Pure liquid used for all its beneficial reasons in our bodies. You had an ingrediant to it, the body just wants to use the lil of that ingrediant and get rid of the rest. Coffee actually dehydrates you too (opposite of water). Juice: no, beer: definately no, tea: no. The only other good place for water intake is in fresh, raw fruits and veggies, like melons and celery.

you can count juice as part of your fluid intake but not coffee or tea because they contain caffeine they take water out of your system because they dehydrate you it takes two servings of water to replace the water lost from one cup of coffee so keep that in mind

I asked this question not too long ago and got mixed answers. I just recently read in an article in Shape magazine that coffee and tea do count.

I don't think u can count coffe,tea....etc as water.
Cause the above don't have the same function of water on ur body which is purifying and cleaning all the toxic from ur body.
Wishing u all the luck.
