operating systems like windows etc..... is there any way to check it

If it's Windows go to windows update.It will run a small program to determine if it's genuine or not.

It's quite hard to do that with non operating systems. You can try putting a call into the manufacturer (microsoft has a number for this) to have them tell you if the product is genuine or not.

Another way to do is to register the software. If it's pirated, there is a good chance the original owner of the information registered the software, so if you try again, it'll tell you that it's already been registered.

Check the disk it was installed with, if it says "Windows XP" written with a Sharpie it's probably not a legitimate version.

Only way is to connect to website and register OS !

If it is ubuntu linux you have no problem
