Iron supplements are commonly made from free iron - not the kind that is biologically safe and active: namely, metalloproteins. In order for a mineral to work it has to be ionically charged, and must be bound to its food cofactors. Free iron is oxidative and can cause all kinds of health issues. Go to www.centrumistoxic.com and look up ferrous fumarate in the ingredient list to find out more.

It's usually B vitamins that do this - was it a combined supplement?
Iron might do it - nothing to worry about, it just means your body is excreting this excess in a normal, healthy, way.

You should not be taking iron supplements if you're a male, unless your Doctor has recommended you do so.

Yes it will turn your urine a bright/dark color, as would a multivitamin. Drink plenty of water and it will go away until you take the next dose.

The longer you hold your urine the darker the yellow it will be. The quicker you release the urges the clearer it will be.....my guess is that ammonia builds within the longer you hold it, thus making the color yellow appear darker, and vice versa....

I have heard that it does. The vitamin/mineral supplement I take does the same thing.

Probably not, its fairly normal in this weather. You sweat more so you pee less. Check with your doctor just in case or phone NHS Direct if your in the UK. And don't exceed the dose with your iron pills.
