Has anyone actually found any viable relationships via the internet? What qualities do either man orwomen look for in their ideal partner? What kind of relationship does one mainly seek(i.e. long term, marriage, short term, intimate, one night stand)? I'm doing some research in this area and any info would be appreciated.

my friend started chatting with a woman from williston, nd in January. He fell in love with her over the phone and asked her to marry him when they first met in march. He went to her hometown 2x to bring her back to wisconsin and both times come home alone. They talk every day (mostly argue) yet he still want her to move here with him. I think spark gone now as she play to many games and things over past few months. Guess if you do meet someone take it slow. Really get to know the person before making a life shattering move.

I dated on the internet for a year and this is what I found. Initially, 7 out of 9 responses came from older or foriegn guys. Guys you wouldn't give the time or day too. So there's some weeding out to do. However, I had a relationship for 4 months with a nice guy my age, but we both agreed we could date other people. He was more just a friend I went out with. One night stands could be found if that is what you were looking for. Serious long-term relationships could be found too, but I didn't find any. I went out with 2 more guys from the internet that lasted for 3 months or more. The reason I stopped was the last guy turned out to be a loser, free-ride, no good, psycho that turned me away from any kind of casual dating. They don't put that in their profiles. So I would say out of the 14 guys I met, 10 didn't get past the first date or two. 3 turned out to be nice guys, one more a friend with no sexual chemistry, and two totally gorgerous that I thought I was in love with. And one, well, I could forget that one.

I had a lot of real downer experiences
But about 4 years ago I met a wonderful man to
And we have been engaged for the last 2 years
And I count every day as a blessings.
When the time is right that special person will come into your life.

I haven't found anyone online but I do know two couples that meet that way and both are married today and one just had a baby a few months ago. But I still say that is not the norm, I think that they worked out because they just met online their relationship started in the real world. None of this "I'm in love with a guy I have never met".

Well, zero. I mean, I can't be online all the time, and I don't want to give online dating a high chance(although, I do believe there is a chance). It didn't work for me, sorry. I mean, you can't possibly get intimate with a person in a day, so I gave up on it. Friends, maybe, I'd give it a chance.

I haven't, 0% really. Same as offline. For me it's romantic, respect, sensitive, no drugs, premarital sex, smoking, drinking etc. It depends on the person what kind of relationship they seek. Some are short term, one night stands, some are longer. It all depends.
