It's called mouthing. But just speak sharply and be diappointed. Your cat should respond well. She'll forget now and then.

I have a kitten that I am training right now to stop biting. I have a very curious two year old in my house and I don't want her getting hurt. This is a double-bind situation because I am trying to teach them both to respect each other. With the cat I am using a squirt bottle with water in it. Every time I catch her biting I just squirt, it is harmless, but cats hate water.

If the cat is biting, playing, then just tap it's nose and tell it no. Eventually it will learn that it's being too rough. Another thing I do (because my cats are big babies) is say "ouch that hurt" and my cats will lick it.

If the cat is biting, being mean, there's not much you can do. Tell it "no" and grab it by the scruff on the neck, but that's about it.
