a haircut is by far the best way to get rid of them, but you could also try hair products that you find at the grocery store or wal-mart. I know there is a kind (not sure what brand) that is a tip conditioner that you just put on the ends of your hair and leave there for a few minutes and then wash out. You could also try a hot oil treatment. Suave makes them and a bunch of other brands too. Also, if you are using a hair straightener or another product like that, those often dry out your hair and cause breakage and split ends, so try using a product instead if possible.

Getting a trim at least once every 6-8 weeks . Doesn't mean that you have to have a hair cut. Just a trim :) Deep conditioning treatments work well try using salon products and ask your hair care provider what product will work best on your hair. I do not kow what your budget is, But I find that salon products always work the best with the advice of a hair care professional.

The only way to get rid of them is to cut them off.

To prevent them, you need to keep your hair moisturized by using a leave in under your styling products(that can also dry your hair and cause split ends because of drying ingredients), and do deep treatments atleast 2 times a month. Also, try minimizing heat styling. Heat appliances are one of the main culprits of split ends. If you use curling irons or flat-irons, use a protectant, such as a silicone-based serum. It may not prevent them 100%, but it helps in minimizing heat damage that can cause split ends.

Unfortunately, there is NO product that can fix spilt ends. And if a product claims that it can fix it, they're are lying. The FDA doesn't regulate what a company says that their product can do. They only regulate the listing of ingredients. Most products can only mask/camoflauge the damage temporarily, but they can't fix it. Hair is "dead", so if it's damaged, the only recourse is to cut/trim the damaged pieces off.

There are different types of hair serums on the market that you can use after treating your hair with a very good intensive conditioning mask (leave the conditioning treatment on whilst in the bath, the heat helps the treatment work through the hair). I have very long naturally curly hair so I know. But afraid to say, not much will really work unless the hair gets a trim every 6 weeks to keep it in order! Sorry.

different serums can cover them up but the best way is to get a trim at least every 12 weeks conditioner your hair with deep treatments are masks and try to stay away from the heat keep heat out of your hair if possible and use a leave in conditioner when ever you go swimming bu tbe warned covering up the split ends will only make them worse and cause breakage.........the long hair lover

Honestly, the only way to get rid of split ends is to have your hair trimmed. Once the hair shaft is split or damaged in that way, there is no way to repair it. Once you have your hair trimmed you can do treatments on it to help prevent further damage or splitting. You will need to find out what type of treatment is appropriate for your hair type. You either need moisture or protein. Your hair stylist will be able to tell you what is best for you.

Your hair really should be trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks. Try not to over use heat appliances on your hair and use a good conditioner.

Unfortunately, yes... cut them off! You are only allowing them to get worse by leaving them there. As they split, they will just split farther and farther up the hair shaft. :( Then, try to prevent by using weekly moisturizing treatments. A nice mayonaise set works nicely for me. Good Luck!
