Dude, I'll let you into a little secret. Volcanoes, floods, hurricanes, not a damn thing to do with the Devil...but call me crazy if I still like the whole "fleeing" thing as an option when Nature gets pissed. How do you 'resist' a volcano? Draw a line on the ground and say "Get thee behind me magma"?

You sure got that "God hath not appointed us to wrath" out of the the whole context of what it is saying. Not one hint of natural disaster in that passage.
1 Thessalonians 5:8 But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him.

Are you suggesting it's a good idea to stay put rather than run away from an erupting volcano? Perhaps there's hope for future generations that evolution will provide resistance to faith.

According to the bible, God created everything, including evil. The rain falls on the just and unjust. I'm sure you can find many verses to support your original idea and then find equally contradicting one's to support what I've just stated.
Laws of Nature always apply.
