I'd have to say I'm equally close to both parents but just in a different way. I'm definitely a daddy's girl (still! even at age 33!) and we do a lot of stuff together. There are certain subjects I'll talk with my dad about before my mom but then again, the same is true on the opposing side. My dad actually works for me now too which is way cool.

My mom is also my best friend. We love to go do the lunch and "girl stuff" together. I can talk to her about anything even tho' there are some things I'd rather discuss with my dad first.

When it comes to a crisis situation, my dad is the first one I call if I'm trying to stay calm. My mom is too emotional. But I know I can count on both of them equally.

Did I mention I have awesome parents?!?

Well, I'm a daddy's girl at heart. I'm a lot closer to my father than my mother but that's because its been a cycle with my mom not really getting along with her mom. People who have both parents are really lucky to me because a lot of people aren't as fortunate. Love you parents because in all honesty you only have them for such a short period of time and they can be taking away from you at any moment. My mom just lost her mom and I think it finally hit her that after all that time of arguing and not getting along, she's gone forever.

Both my parents... However, my dad had to work all the time--yes, our family of 5 went through several atrocities: ie, fatal car accident (which we all survived), then our family suffered my dad's lay-off. It was a bumpy road through childhood. My dad, also a Vietnam Vet., unfortunately got into drugs (as a way of escape & cope), down with the drugs, along went thee most critical aspect for any child... Fatherhood went to a downfall. Our mother became physically abusive towards us kids (through childhood) due to her own stressers. Parents divorced when I was 11 yrs old. As a young male child, as well as my younger bro. we yearned, and desperately wanted a father-figure... But we were robbed of that. The family courts saw to it our mother receiving full custody. Life was not only difficult throughout childhood, but also empoverished. Looking back, I cannot blame my dad for his flaws (as I see just about everyone doing such things today--economical status--its all the same). I, however, had to make leaps and bounds to forgive my mother due to her emotional and physical abuse to us kids (our sister never received the physical abuse my brother and I endoured). At least our father later apologized, and in the most humbling way... Showed us he cared. As for our mother, everything was an "entitlement" due to her status as a "mother". The authorities failed us as well--Child protection services favored our mom due to the "political correctness" and never reported the abuse we all endoured while under her care. To date, my younger bro is now an attorney in California. I am in the medical field studing for my BSN. My bro and I have been close friends through it all.

I have both my mother and Stepfather (since I was 2), and strangely enough I would say I was closer to my father than my mother.

My mom. My dad is just a jerk sometimes and I cant handle him. He shows no concern for anyone but himself. So my mom and I are almost like bff.
