If you can't stop snacking, pop a piece of sugarless gum in your mouth. Less than 5 calories and satisfying. :)

Trust me I feel your pain. I gained a lot of weight when I had surgery because all I did was sit around all day and since I was depressed what I usually ate were cookies or chips.
What has really helped me is to join a support group. I actually joined LA Weight Loss, but I think any group could be helpful. It is helpful to just have someone there to talk to and to tell you that you are doing a good job. For me I like the fact that they DONT know me, because at my lowest point (highest weight) I didn't want my friends or family to know how out of control I had gotten.
The other thing I have learned is "Everything in Moderation!"
It is okay to have a few chips or some candy or a piece of cake, just not all in the same day and balance it with something else. I have gotten some really great craving fighting recipies now, so that helps too. I wish you the best of luck!

Find substitutes for your sweets. For example, try eating cantaloupe instead. It should satisfy your cravings for sweets. You might try eating an apple as it does have pectin in it and can help in controlling your appetite.
Don't think diet. Instead, think eat healthy. That way you can eat the right kinds of foods and be more satisfied.
Try to eat your meals only in your kitchen, not in other areas. That can help tremendously.
Find something else to keep yourself occupied so that you're less likely to think about eating the sweets.
And definitely see a doctor beforehand to make sure that you are in good health.

We all crave food for different reasons. Some for boredom, some for metabolism reasons, after you exercise...sometimes your body craves food. I suggest you find something to do when these urges come on.....keep your hands busy! Good Luck!
