Yes, it's the ultimate sin to turn your face from God. The ultimate one because it's the only one God can't forgive (how can He, if you deny He exists?)
The good news is that you haven't done that, not if you are concerned about sinning against God .... that means you still believe He exists.

So, you feel that God abandoned you?
You are like a lot of people who get let down from all the false promises that are made by organized religion. The fact of the matter is that tragic events do happen in life and it doesn't matter whether you are Christian or not.
So, there is good and there is God within all of us. It is far and beyond what the God of organized religion claims to be, a big old father figure that takes care of everything.
Search within and find a higher spiritual awakening. Study Buddhism and Hinduism and you will find stronger elements of truth far beyond Christianity.
Good luck and be strong without your Catholic crutch.

No not at all. The truth is that many stray in times of great need an pain. I found my self all but walking away from my Christian roots by the end of high school. An after yrs of feeling out of place, I found my self studying at a Church of Scientology! Which is where I’ve been sense.
I feel great about my life now. I’ve been home less, low income, and from a abusive home. Things do not have to get in the way of your happiness. When it’s time you will find your self w/ god or whom ever makes you feel fulfilled.

I think that questioning your religion is part of being human. I don't think that looking away from God is a sin. I think many, many people do this after tragedy. In the end, most people come back around. Maybe Catholicism isn't the best match for you. We all start out in the church our parents take us to, but sometimes as we get older we realize what our personal beliefs are.
Good luck, I hope you find the peace you seek!

No, never. Firstly, there is nothing called 'sin' or its contrary divine deed. Fools condition our mind and fill it with such garbage so that when Bin Laden kills innocent people in the name of God he assures himself a place in 'Noor' with 'Hoor' i.e. heaven. When President Bush bombards on innocent Iraqis and Afghans, he thinks that he is punishing the sinners on behalf of God. Likewise, the Holy Church had waged wars in the past against Muslims who were killing Christians in the name of Jihad or Holy war. But do you think that actually there is any thing called a sin with different meaning for different persons. We are taught that do not do to others what you do not like to be done to you. But what do we practise? Hence, sin is in one's mind because the mind has been fed with the concept of sin. Non Christians are also children of God. Do not worry, God is never influenced by the advocacy of these fools who have opened markets in the name of God. Abjure organised religion, which ever religion it is. Just have faith in the Almighty and love him as your mother and father because God has no sex like men and animals. Otherwise, by this time, there would have been more Gods and Goddesses than human beings since God pre-existed human beings.

Maybe you should stay away from the catholic church,go to a bible based church and read the WORD for your self.Read Job in the old testament,it talk's about how God allowed satan to put Job through many tragedies, but in the end Job prospered.
Don't let anyone tell you that being a Christian is easy , somtimes it's harder.Just keep your focus on JESUS

Dear One,
To me, God never wants that people should always pray to Him for every thing. You consider God as your "Idol" or not, does't matter. You pray to Him or not he will always protect you when ever you are in trouble. Above all, I have the firm belief that all the religions doing the same thing; i.e. showing him to do the 'right to every body', live a true and fearless life. Don't betray any body, don't tell a lie etc. etc.
It is upto you what you consider about going away from the religion. To me if you are living a 'faultless' life then the religion or God is always with you.
IT IS 100% TRUE, WHAT I AM GOING TO TELL L YOU IN A FEW WORDS. THERE IS GOD PRESENT. ON 19th of November 2005, I was declared 'dead' but still I am living a happy life. A sever heartattack (sixth) brought me down, and before loosing my conscious I prayed to God remmembering my holy Guru's, " By the grace of my guru, O, God give save me upto 12th of December 2005 and then on 12th of December pleas take my life."
On 11th December 2005 my youngest son's marriage was going to be performed. One of my three sons took me to private nursing home, the nursing home seeing my condition refused me to treat. My son took me to Kukreja Heart Hospital, in Tagore Garden, New Delhi-27. Doctors there also refused to take my case. At that time I was unconcious or Dead. Doctors told my son and wife, "The patient is almost Dead and there is no hope of his surviving this heartattack."
My wife, who has full faith in the God and our Holy Guru, asked the doctors to trie, and she had full faith in his God and Guru. I will be saved.
I short, miracle happened and I was saved by the doctors. This was only by the grace of allmighty God.
So, please have firm belief in God. Catholic religion or anyother religion makes no difference. Yes, there is no sin to go away from your religion but don't go away from doing right things.
God bless you.
With regards,
rsj

No, it is getting real. "God" has never once taken care of me. More than once I have watched people that have wronged me go on to better things (one woman who destroyed my reputation at work won the lottery, nice, huh?) and I have never once received any "reward" from "God" for doing the right thing, but if I even retaliated after someone wronged me, punishment was sure to follow. "He" has NEVER once let anything go right for me, or allowed me to have ANYTHING without hardship, so I would rather just believe there is no god than believe in one that just is vindictive towards a person no matter what they do.
And no, I never expected to get everything I prayed for, but it would have been nice to have gotten SOMETHING.
And for the people that say not to blame him because he does not make things happen, why should we thank him for things we had to work for? He did not drop those things from the sky.
And don't even say I should "thank him" for my health - since I was a child, I have never been truly healthy. I was born with several defects (head to toe in fact) but am just "normal" enough to not qualify for disability, but it does NOT mean I am not in pain from daily activities.

There are only two requirements for salvation, and they are non-denominational.
1. repentance (Luke 13:3-5)
2. Being born again (John 3:3-5) = Water baptism (not sprinkling) in Jesus' name and baptism of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38)
Contrary to popular belief, salvation is conditional, based on obedience

well is not abnormal to look away from god. i know what your going through. many people blame god today for the bad things that happen in there lives. but i want to tell you god is not the one to blame. god doesnt cause what happend to you to happen, but he allows to take place. let me give you an example say your a father and your son decides to move out the house and get into drugs and alchohol, you let him leave but your not the cause of him getting ill from what he used. you get me? if you have more questions i can help you answer them right from your bible. email me back at Jenenesh@yahoo.com
