It is the result of natural selection and evolution. Religions that are open and accept all other religions as equals run the risk that its adherents might jump ship to those other religions. This increases the odds that it would die out from lack of members. Religions that call themselves, "the one true religion" avoid that.

I think that's why you see so many religions calling themselves the "true religion" and encourage people to question/criticize the other ones. By calling itself the "one true religion", it immediately implies that all other religions are wrong. By encouraging people to question other religions, but saying it is wrong to have its own system analyzed, it maintains an aura of purity about itself (it's hard to find the cracks/errors/dirt when you can't question or criticize it), while the other religions appear flawed and obvious human creations.

So, why can't all religions get along? Because religions that do get along run an increased risk of losing membership and dying out, while religions that encourage strife have increased odds of survival (and therefore become more prominent in the long run).

There will never be a day that ALL religions get along.

Religion is suppose to be something sacred and valued. Many people today are more worried about what religion is right! Which one offer the best mentally and spritually. Which religion will touch lives and make community changes.

The bottom line is all religions are the same. Each religion prays to thier particular GOD, whether it be Allah, Johovah, or what have... but the common goal amongsts all religions is to live a productive, positive and RIGHTEOUS life, one is which is Holy.

Many people are too busy worrying about why their religion is the best... when we are all (well the majority of us) after the same things. A God like life, free from SIN, WORRY & POVERTY.

Love and Peace for everyone.

This question is rather ludicrous. If you mean, can we all live in peace together? Then that would exclude certain religions, like Islam, whom are commanded to spread Islam by the sword and kill anyone who does not convert.

On the other hand, if you are asking why can't there be relative truth and can't all religions be right?

Any claim of truth is a claim that any other claim within the realm of the topic is false. If Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life and the only way to the Father. Then by definition he's the ONLY way to the father, and no other way or truth exists. To suggest that multiple contradictory truths can be simultaneously true is to believe in multiple dimensions of reality. That's absurd. it's a fun science fiction topic but there exists absolutely no evidence whatsoever to suggest there is any other reality than the one we all share. Therefore, there can be only one truth regarding any one thing, such as salvation. In conclusion, if Christ said he is the only way to God he is calling anyone who says differently a liar, and vice versa. And when you're dealing with things of more consequence than death itself, people will rarely sit idly by while watching what they truly believe to be false spread freely without any conflict.

=====

In addition, to comment on what the bald guy said. God encourages people to question and critique their beliefs, even beliefs about him. God sais if someone comes to you claiming to have the truth, don't just believe them because they said so, see what their actions say. If you hear voices claiming to be God, don't just believe it, it could be demonic treachery, put it to the test against God's word.

Because Muslims INSIST on killing anyone who isn't a Muslim. (They say that the Koran ORDERS them to do that.)

The last I looked, I didn't see Christians INSISTING upon killing non-Christians. As a matter, of fact, the Bible says that killing is wrong.

Love is not an important part of being a Muslim. Muslims get to heaven simply by praying, etc. They become more important in Heaven if they die trying to kill non-Muslims.

Do you have any comments?

As evidence of how screwed-up Muslims are --- they are at "war" with China, Russia, India, Israel, and the United States right now --- or certainly trying to hating those countries and trying to kill people.

Well Thanks for this Great Question

Actually it is said in the Holy Quraan :

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: "Bear witness that we are Muslims."

I think it is obvious from the verse here that God is telling prophet Muhammad to focus on what common between Muslim and Christians

By definition, a religion claims to be an absolute. Therefore
it can only tolerate other religions but it can not agree in
principle.

because all the religions are man made.no 2 men will have the same opinion even if the meaning of the answer is same.it is same with religion , all religions tell the same thing. to be good., to do good, to think good, to help others ,to have faith in god .but when it comes to respecting other religion we have our own doubts & reservations.the day man realises that there is only one religion called humanity, he will become one with god.

Because even some of the most basic of religious principles differ between them. And no, they cannot just "agree to disagree" because in some instances it means the way they practice their faith, the way they live their lives, etc.

Because everyone thinks their religion is "The right one" compared to others. People will always be in debate about religion!
