I believe that from the moment of conception our lives are planned. Does anybody else share this view.

No. Life is a queer mixture of chances and choices. By choosing the right path you can rewrite the plan. There are constant factors and variable factors that influence the out comes of our actions. We have a choice to exercise by being proactive using our faculties called conscience and intelligence. If we live a mere reactive life, life is reduced to a preplanned road map. But nature has endowed us with faculties that are denied to other creatures. So, we should be proactive and lead a conscious choiceless life. Consciousness is the key to a successful human life. We should be conscious of every breath taken in and out even while sleeping and in dream state. Choiceless because choice is the result of desire and desires unfulfilled lead to sorrow, anger and self destruction. This is in nutshell is Hinduism which is a way of life, rather than an organised religion. Hence, no body is converted to Hinduism; whereas anybody in the world has a choice of Hindu way of life.

No, I go by the biblical verse "I knew you before you were formed in your mother's womb", which I take to mean that you are already a soul even before conception.

But the "our lives are planned" is sort of a general statement, yes? I mean, yes, to a certain extent every life is planned ... you are an infant, a toddler, a kid, a teen, then an adult. Your school years are planned, and your parents have dreams and plans for you, the government is planning on you working all your life and paying taxes, the credit card companies plan on providing you with credit that you will have to work to repay.

So yeah, our lives are planned to a certain extent. And God, too, has plans for you. He plans on blessing your life and walking through it with you, He plans on giving you joy and satisfaction, He plans on giving you children later in life to be your blessing.

But if you mean that God plans for you to be a doctor, a lawyer or a hat-maker, marry ole whats-his-name and have 4.3 kids, no, He does not.

I believe that I made a lot of choices based on what I wanted to learn as a soul before I was ever born. Like who my parents would be so that I may gain certain physical characteristics. Also this way I could have the opportunity to learn certain physical lessons. I believe I made agreements with other souls to have interactions so that we may learn from them. Be it marriage, parenting, physical abuse, or whatever. Good and bad teaches us all. That doesn't mean we don't have many possible choice to make at each turn.

What would the point be if that were the absolute truth? Maybe there is always a different road we could take to a different life plan, maybe. Best wishes

God does have a plan for each of us but we do not follow that plan as we have free will and can make choices that may not be according to God's will. I do not believe in predestination because that would leave us as mindless puppets and God loves us too much for that so He allows us free will to make choices.

No, not really. I think maybe parts are planned, the parts where you come to a fork in the road... but I believe completely in free-will.

I don't believe in destiny but some people will have better opportunities than others. As for some big scheme that we all fit in to - I don't think so.

Well thanks for your question first but Gods knowledge exceeds planing ...it more like knowing

He knows exactly what will you do but still he leaves the choice to you like for ex : if you have a son and you gave him the choice to go with you to the doctor or play in the swimming pool ....you are 99% sure that he will choose playing :)
