No, Sir. Christianity, (despite how man has used it) is not about politics. It is about Christ. Christ's primary task, while on earth, was to redeem all, especially man, to the Father. In doing such, he corrected many false teachings and customs of the Jews. He also reminded His Church that the women is to be appreciated for her labour in child-bearing and nurturing.
That being said, the Holy Spirit of Christ, through the Apostle Paul, often reminded women, (in Ephisians and I Corintihians) that she must honour the man who is her head and shepherd. This bluntly denounces feminism.
The Gnostic gospels have been proven by historians to be fraud. They are the fraudulant writings of Greeks posing as the Apostles in atempt to influence Christians in their Greek mythologies. Even the, so called, writings of Magdalene are fraudulent. Such undisputable truth is the reason the early fathers of the Church did not accept these teachings into the Bible and its 66 books.

I don't believe that Christianity was the first feminist movement, the entire religion has done nothing but glorify men and demean women for over 2000 years. Christ may have been an avid feminist but that does not mean that Christianity is a feminist movement. I am a firm believer in Christ and God however I also realize that the bible was written and translated dozens of times not by God or Christ but by fallible men. Even if Christ was a feminist his church has never followed that path and all you have to do is look at the history of the Catholic church to see this fact clearly.

Christianity 'replaced' other religions that were more feminist.
Christianity is not feminist in the slighest. Eve is blamed for the downfall of man - she is punished with the pain of childbirth and submission to man. Adam is punished for listening to her and not God. Woman are the property of men, they are dirty and sinful after childbirth and during menstruation, they are considered evil, whorish, strange.
In it's contemporary context, Christinaity served a purpose to oppress women. It is, after all, a book of social rules and mores.
In the 21st century, however I would haope that it recognises women as being the same but different to men.
With all due respect, I wouldn't say that an Alpha video - the Alpha course works to convert people - would be hugely balanced.

On the contrary, most religions before Judeo-Christianity were matriarchal in nature, while the latter was a drastic change to a patriarchal religious society.

gnostic christianity may be construed as an early feminst movement because they had female ministers in their churches; and many of them believed that mary magdalene had been an apostle(not just a desciple) like the other twelve. the gnostic christians were a lot more progressive than the roman christians who persecuted them.
