What I found was not that the meds cause organ failure - it's the heartworms that cause it. I think you're pretty safe in giving your dog heartworm meds that have been on the market for 10 years. I don't use things that just came out, even if they seem more convenient. Let them experiment on the other fools' dogs! Heartworm is a horrible and expensive condition to treat and the dog is never the same.
