Im wondering where people go for their expensive food?
I would never spend more than 2500 won for a roll of kimbab.
I would never spend more than 3000 won for mandu either (dumplings).
Yes 17,5000 is enough for one person per day for food.

Havent been to Kojedo, but im assuming that there will be cheap korean food there.

Even BBQ is cheap.
3-4 people, meats, vegetables, couple of bottles of soju and it's less than 30,000 total. Thats A LOT of food too.

The best cheap restarant/eating place (and there are thousands nationwide) is Kimbab Chon Guk (Kimbab heaven) they have more than 60 items on their menu.

Learn to read Korean before you come, then learn to recognise food names that you like, dont like etc... it will make things easier for you.

I lived in Korea. You can buy a role of Sushi and dumpling for 700 won or about $7USD so multiple that time three and that $21USD or 2100 Won a day. To be honest a good meal in Korea cost about 1000 won or $10USD. I would say to budget about $30 or 3000 won a day for food. Plus get a pre day bus pass.

Hello

I'm Korean, and I have been to Kojedo.
Please forgive me, though I use bad English.

Kojedo is island, so there is a lot of fish dish.
Crab, su-shi, hot fish soup etc.
These are not cheap, if you want to have very good dish.
If you have it with your friends, it is not too expensive to eat.
Special dishes are about 15,000~30,000won for four people.

But, if you want to eat general Korean foods, they are cheap.
They are usually 2,000~5,000won.

If you want to eat Western foods, you can go to downtown.
They are more expensive, maybe, I haven't had them.

I have a lot of thinking to tell you, but I can't express in English.
Sorry, but i want you have a good time in Kojedo.

Good bye
