There is no doubt that God is the one responsible for evil. It is written in the Bible itself.

Lamentations 3.38-"Is it not from the mouth of the most high that good an evil come?"

Isaiah 45.6-7 - "I am the Lord and there is no other...I make weal and create woe, I am the Lord, who do all these things." (God)

Here is a quick list of the atrocities God is charged with in a court of logic: demanding and sanctioning human sacrifices (Leviticus 27.28-29; Judges11.29-40), Killing innocent firstborn children (Exodus12.29), Sanctioning slavery (Exodus 21.2-6; Leviticus 25.44-46), sanctioning the selling of one's daughter (Exodus 21.7), death for heresy (Exodus 22.20), death for violating the sabbath (Exodus 31.14-15), death for cursing one's parents (Leviticus 20.9), death for adultery (20.10), death for blasphemy (Leviticus 20.16), and death by stoning for women only who had premarital sex (Deuteronomy22.20-21).

Is God really loving and just? It doesn't seem so to me.

If God does these things, then he is not omnibenevolent.

The answer to your question is yes.

He has tortured, tormented and killed people throughout the OT. He once killed some people when he was gambling with Satan. He has joined in wars, killed animals and plants, and he allows innocent people to go to Hell and be tortured by his buddy Satan.

As loving as He is supposed to be, he has committed more atrocities than Hitler. But then most people don't trouble themselves to actually read the Bible, they just say they are Christian.

You are only looking at God from one dimension.
God is not only a loving God but also a Just God
The best example I can give you is for you to look at the cross.
There the greatest act of love was demonstrated (God as Holy God) placing on God the Son the sins of all mankind that all mankind would once again have a chance to live in glory forever.
You also see the just God who works within the (spiritual) legal system. (Those who break the law must die).

It always amazes me how many times this God orders the killing of innocent people even after the Ten Commandments said “Thou shall not kill”. For example, God kills 70,000 innocent people because David ordered a census of the people (1 Chronicles 21). God also orders the destruction of 60 cities so that the Israelites can live there. He orders the killing of all the men, women, and children of each city, and the looting of all of value (Deuteronomy 3). He orders another attack and the killing of “all the living creatures of the city: men and women, young, and old, as well as oxen sheep, and asses” (Joshua 6). In Judges 21, He orders the murder of all the people of Jabesh-gilead, except for the virgin girls who were taken to be forcibly raped and married. When they wanted more virgins, God told them to hide alongside the road and when they saw a girl they liked, kidnap her and forcibly rape her and make her your wife! Just about every other page in the Old Testament has God killing somebody! In 2 Kings 10:18-27, God orders the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church! In total God kills 371,186 people directly and orders another 1,862,265 people murdered.

The God of the Bible also allows slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 and Isaiah 13:16), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 & Psalms 137:9).

This type of criminal behavior should shock any moral person. Murder, rape, pillage, plunder, slavery, and child abuse can not be justified by saying that some god says it’s OK. If more people would actually sit down and read the Bible there would be a lot more atheists like myself.

Jesus also promoted the idea that all men should castrate themselves to go to heaven: "For there are eunuchs, that were so born from their mother's womb: and there are eunuchs, that were made eunuchs by men: and there are eunuchs, that made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it." (Matthew 19:12 ASV) I don't know why anyone would follow the teachings of someone who literally tells all men to cut off their privates.

The God of the Bible also was a big fan of ritual human sacrifice and animal sacrifice.

And just in case you are thinking that the evil and immoral laws of the Old Testament are no longer in effect, perhaps you should read where Jesus makes it perfectly clear: "It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid." (Luke 16:17 NAB) There are many more quotes on this topic at the link below.

I know that most Christians believe that God is a good and loving god, and wants people to do good things. I believe that most people want to do good things and behave morally. I also believe that many Christians haven’t really read the Bible, or just read certain passages in church. This is understandable, as the Bible is hard to read due to its archaic language and obscure references. Also many priests and preachers don’t like to read certain passages in the Bible because they present a message of hate not love.

First of all you should be more precise. Is the god that is named in Bible such and such. He or somebody else for one or other reason can claim that he is god and that he is all. It is very possible that he knows himself and the lower and not the true lord.
Yahweh indeed is in a way low placed god that rules astral and part of causal. He is under the domain of mind, of time and space. He is the judge that is judging our doings (Karma). In the limits of the law he is executing he is the topmost and very, very righteous.

There is lot of creation and else after the realm of YAHWEH (see CABALA, ....). If you will go to practice some spiritual practices you can find out by yourself. Please do it under the control of genue teacher.

People do those things. People with free will. I think all livings things are pieces of God so I can see how it would be said that God does those things. God is not perfect. God is still learning and growing. With each interaction between living things there is an experience for God to learn from.

You have tremendous research. But Alas! its one sided. You have pointed out the so called 'evils' - but u have failed to see that it was a punishment visited on the people FOR THE WRONGS THEY HAVE DONE and also certain ERRORS are punishable.

Please dont accuse God of anything. Its like signing your own death warrant. Your wisdom is not above God's and your judgements are not superior to His.

Read the book of Proverbs.

God is what He is, The Bible tells us what He is, we believe the Bible, We don't make our own God and then try to find it in the Bible. The idea that God is all loving is a modern idea and certainly not taught int he Bible. God has many character qualities and love is one of them, but so also is holiness, justice, mercy, wrath, anger. We are told in the Bible to fear God because He it is a "terrfying thing to fall into the hands of a living God." (Hebrews 10:30 For we know Him who said, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY." And again, "THE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE." 31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.)

What you are describing is a God created by people. The real one is in the deepest part of your soul. Everybody has one. God and religion are not the same thing. In fact I think thay have nothing to do with each other.

My chum I see you have a similar expertise as a "NO" at first, even however you will possibly fail the "NO" qualification try with the aid of fact which you end the academic technique at rhe a million/2 way factor. i will say that with the aid of fact i'm the originator of the "NO"s and the only "NO" i be responsive to that does exist. the tale is basically a million/2 over once you do understand what the actual God did while he introduced into existance those sort of so referred to as immoral human beings you stated and declared like paedophiles, rapists, torturers, mass murderers and so on. The God I understand did this to show he's in absolute administration and that at that factor it's time to verify the excellent means of the actual God. as quickly as one accepts the reality he's in the variety of place by ability of appropriate layout, he can settle for that as a organic reality and then want a metamorphosis be made by ability of the actual God to stunning this actuality. confident, the stunning and deserving worship actual God has already in place in a organic basically justice gadget the provisions to alter people who you stated from the stated place to easily the alternative place by ability of the "Born back" or "Born from Above" technique. Is that no longer great.? My chum you spot what's now as what would be the next day that's an absolute impossibility. I advise you come to simplicity and attempt to understand such easy issues like for useful the next day you would be a million day older as a effect a metamorphosis is immediately on time table in that appreciate. The "immoral" on your words entities basically would desire to desire to get replaced for the next day after accepting the organic reality. So candy, so easy and particularly common for individual who can use the means to think of and to understand. for this reason a thinking "NO" can no longer help yet to worship the variety of great God my chum. Please positioned back on your thinking cap and attempt to verify the full tale previously you start up with those questions that look to confuse such a number of with a simlilar situation of no longer seeing the common issues in reality. How stunning it particularly is stated that "the certainty basically hurts people who won't settle for it".
