Yes, as a matter of fact it does!! The back side look very much like a new Corolla. That's why I decided not to buy one. Gonna stick with my '04 model Jetta until they can come out with something a little more creative!

I never really compared them, but I'm very happy with my 2002 Jetta TDI. I don't care what Toyota does. I might be buying a 2008 Passat TDI when they can start importing diesels again, but the EPA has made their import temporarily forbidden, so I'll wait a while

It does... that is the first thing that came to mind when I saw it from behind. That's actually a pitty since the previous Jetta was such a good looking (looked german) car.

i thought the exact same thing when they first came out. the corolla and the new jetta definitely look a lot alike... and, luckily, they're both pretty cute.
