I commend you for wanting to do the right thing. I think God will lead you to know which is right. And don't forget, whatever you give ABOVE the tithe is your OFFERING. Malachi 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me, But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

There is no "correct" answer to your question...all you will receive are opinions. The tithe was established for theocratic nation of Israel. Yes, there is a precedence for using the tithe as a guideline, but one should not be legalistic in their approach to giving.

People should offer whatever they feel compelled (by the holy Spirit). Personally, I think the whole "tithe" thing can become repulsive (when the Church leadership is pushing individuals for it). Tithing was an OT practice (living in a theocracy), and is not comparable at all to our times/culture. If an individual chooses to tithe, that is great. But it shouldn't EVER be done for reasons of compulsion.

I was in a legalistic tithing Church, and it really destroyed me (this was many years ago when I was new to the faith). I neglected needs of self and family in order to "reach my tithe", and it very negatively impacted my spiritual growth. As I grew in faith and knowledge I realized how foolish I had been. "2 Cor 8:12" was a huge wake up call to my legalistic approach to tithing...

2 Corinthians 8:12 "For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have."

2 Corinthians 9:7 "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

My advice: pray that God would show you His will. Whether the amount is 8% of net/gross or 18% of net/gross, give from the heart as an offering to God.

According to the Bibilcal teaching, you should tithe 10% of your earning, so that means you should tithe 10% of your entire business in your case. God will bless you a lot more than you can imagine. God bless.

reliable question. indexed less than are some miscellaneous concepts i have heard preached/taught in this count number. a million. If tithing is on the region of God's blessing you (Mal 3:11), then on what do you want to be blessed? 2. be careful now to not fall into the catch of legalism; it truly is not the share that is significant yet your courting with God (Mark 12:40-one-40 4). 3. Make it a count number of prayer; supply as God leads (2 Cor 8:a million-5). 4. once you're making Jesus your Lord, He possesses all you've besides, not merely ten p.c. (Acts 2:40 4-40 5).

Please be informed, that the 'tithing' is not in vogue today. Dont get misled by the TV chaps who play upon people's mind making them do the 'tithing'.

If you want to give, go to a nearby orphanage, buy food or clothing or whatever they need for the amount of money you want to give away - but CERTAINLY 10% IS NOT COMPULSORY. Just what is possible by you.

Remember the widow who put just two coins - the only possession she had in the world ? Jesus said - she gave the best gift.

I SUGGEST THAT YOU SHOULD GIVE THE WHOLE TITHE OF THE TOTAL GROSS EARNINGS OF YOUR BUSINESS. God will confirm this by giving you His perfect peace everytime you tithe.

MALACHI 3:10 says, Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.

I agree with PC Man and Oldguy63 and I would say that we give what we can give from our hearts. I think about the financial conditions of many today and what comes to mind is a phrase I heard from a Mission. "Some give by going..others go by giving" and what this says to me is....its doesn't have to be money that we give..we all have talents and abilities that could well serve our brothers and sisters and we should consider this type of giving. There is a certain amount of money needed to pay expenses, thats true for any church..but if your desire is to have your gift help those truly in need, try donating time, talents, clothing, etc: in other words feed the poor, clothe them, etc when you don't have the financial means to give money.

Ignore ignorant answers like the last one. You should tithe as you earn. You can always add for an offering.

You cannot afford to tithe out of your entire buisness. Just tithe what you are willing to give. God doesn't want anything besides what you want to give.
