Why is it that most of the serious questions get so few answers and stupid questions get so many answers??

And yes i am asking this question here because this is where i ask all my questions..

U know i sometimes pick up serious issues and get like 4or 6 answers and and when i read serious questions of other askers i see so few there too..it kinda makes me think....isnt we here to read and write something useful rather than gathering points with which we are not going to get anything anyways...

Because people are basically lazy. Why write out a well thought out answer, when you can put a one word comment?
I have had this happen too, I posted a stupid question just to test the theory and got more answers than any of my serious questions.
However, there are some decent people on here that actually take the time to answer your serious questions. In that case quality matters over quanity.

You're joking, right ? Serious questions get few answers because it takes thought, time and effort to give a serious answer. Most people don't want to take the time to actually THINK about something and offer an insightful, considered opinion. Most answerers are simply on here, clamoring for attention - as evidenced by people who will answer by merely running their fingers over the keyboard ("ao;yigapeog a") and hitting "submit" so that they get their name up on the site and points to their credit. Stupid questions get so many answers because they require so little thought. (See above.) The site is turning into --- as all things do ---- a place where we place on parade the Great Dumbing Down of America.

I am guilty of answering stupid questions just as much as anyone else. It's simple to act stupid and give a stupid or smart answer in reply. But I have also answered many serious questions and have only answered with serious answers. In fact, my answers appear to be far too serious and my questions as well for that matter. I have removed questions that were so serious that evidently no one wanted to take time to answer them or didn't know what to say. They weren't answered at all. I'm far too serious a person to begin with, so most people think I'm a joke. Maybe I am, who knows.

The stupid questions are, at least, an easy two points.

The serious questions involve concentration, knowledge, and/or experience, which people (generally) don't have or (don't) want to waste their time on.

I have wasted so much time on serious questions -- and got nothing for it (except the two points) --- that I have resolved to answering a bunch of unimportant (stupid) questions because it is more worth my time. Case in point: Someone asked a serious question, in need of something. I searched & searched for an answer. Only one other person answered -- and with a sarcastic remark -- and the question went up for "vote". That other person got "best answer". WHY DO I BOTHER????

Someone should pay me for serious answers or help. Since no one does, you "get what you pay for"... stupid answers to stupid questions.

I'm just venting!! Thanks for the opportunity.

ABOUT YOUR 'ADDITIONAL DETAILS': Yes, I agree, we should be here to ask serious questions and get serious help. But is has turned into -- or, maybe, always was -- a "chat room" for people who (I suppose) are lonely and want attention. If Yahoo! took away the points, maybe the stupid people would go away and the persons who, seriously, want to help others would stay. (Maybe they're smart enough to realize that there's nothing in it for them, except to help others. The stupid people -- pardon my words -- would go away because there is nothing in it for them --- and how smart can you be if your doing this for worthless points??? I was hoping for credibility -- but it's lost! Zap! Gone! I should be too... I'm contemplating not coming back -- because this is REALLY stupid!!!!!!!!!

Peace.

because most of the people here don't know the answers to the serious questions. and some people are total idiots as you can see by some of the questions.

It says something about the answerer. people want things fast and easy. everything. they do not want to invest any soul into an answer. if it is a serious question, people are lazy and do not want to take the time to type out a articulate, thought out answer.

I ask them twice or extend expiration of them, simply - when I am not satisfied by the answer!
Courage.
There will always be somebody who takes the time to answer properly, making a bit of effort to think the issue over... :-)
