This is not a copy paste answer. I always answer an asthma question when I see one because I have had asthma since I was a child and it has almost killed me several times. Asthma is a condition when your bronchial tubes constrict and it is hard for air to pass through them. This can be trigger several ways. Some people by to much physical activity. Some people by smoke, moke, pet dander, pollen or any thing harsh that is in the air we breath. Some people have allergic reactions to certain foods. Any way if you have asthma of any kind. you should first see a doctor and he will help you control it. Now if you have very mild asthma he will probably give you a rescue inhaler that you can use when ever you feel the symptoms. If it is severe like mine he will give you a preventative medicinee. Which is a medicin that you have to take every day to prevent an attack from occurring. As well as a rescue inhaler. If you are having an attack. I took the time to write this because like I said I have severe asthma and I have been near death a bunch of times. Be safe and talk to your doctor. I hope that this info has helped you out. God Bless.

I feel your pain. I've had asthma for 14 years now and have seen several doctors. The truth is, there is no known cure for asthma at the moment. But the symptoms can be prevented. It really depends on what causes your brother's asthma. Mine is usually dust and hot weather. But I think the universal method is using the control inhaler.
I cured my Asthma the natural way?

hey, i am asthmatic and have in the past been to embarrassed when having an asthma attack to use my inhaler, trust me never do this it just makes it worse trust me on that one.
you have to find out what your triggers are, i always have asthma attacks when I'm around dogs for to long, and also if i run to hard, that can sometimes trigger attacks.
To control your asthma you have to use and inhaler, relievers for during attacks and preventers for preventing attacks from happening.
You have to keep your inhaler on you at all times, i have made that mistake to, during an exam i left it in my bag at the back of the hall and half way through i had a real bad asthma attack, it wasn't good!! and i failed the exam!!!
hope this helps : )

i happen to know a lot of things about asthma because 1.) my sister has one, 2.) i have a degree in respiratory therapy and i deal with asthma and other respiratory problems all the time. i'll try to explain this as easier as i can
asthma is caused by hypersensitivity (increased sensitivity) to allergens. there are things that your body happens to "not like" and it doesn't want it inside. other people do not have asthma because they can tolerate the allergen. people are usually annoyed at the effects (like they cannot breathe), but your body is actually trying to protect you. let's say it doesn't want a specific allergen (let's say pet dander), what your body does is that it constrict (closes up) your air tubes (called bronchioles) to prevent the allergen from entering any futher inside your lungs.
there are also other things that triggers asthma besides allergens. there things called "exercise-induced asthma", (you get asthma when you exercise) and sometimes my sister gets asthma just by laughing too much. (which i am responsible for because i make her laugh all the time). you don't need a stethoscope to find out if you're having an asthma attack. I can hear "wheezing" even if i am just sitting right across you. and of course, it is very hard to breathe. patients have told me that it feels like running 5 miles and then breathing through a very small straw. that's asthma.
there are no medications that will cure asthma, but there are medications that will help manage the symptoms. Albuterol (also called pro-ventil or ventolin) is a fast-acting medication (inhaled) that will open up your airways, when you feel like your air tubes are closing up. albuterol merely helps you breathe, but it does not treat the allergy directly. meaning you can inhale albuterol, but if you are surrounded by these allergens, you are going to keep on getting asthma attacks. you need to know the allergens that trigger the asthma attacks --- like pet dander, dust, pollen etc. and you need to avoid them. sometimes there are things you cannot avoid (like dust) so a doctor prescribes you some corticosteroids to help you tolerate those allergens.
you have to take asthma quite seriously. there are times when i've seen kids getting asthma attacks and they would not use their "inhalers" because they are too embarrassed to use them in front of other people. don't try to tolerate your asthma. when you can't breathe, you need to do something about it quick. our bodies are like dominoes, if one organ fails, the others fail as well. we don't want your lungs to fail on you. so take good care of yourself. and don't smoke...

It is a disease where your windpipes swell up and cause air not to pass into the lungs. Talking to yur doctor is the best way to find out what methods or medicines work for you. My children are on inhaled medicines pulmicort and albuterol.

i've got self belief your soreness. i've got had allergies for 14 years now and function considered a number of medical doctors. the certainty is, there's no typical treatment for allergies on the 2nd. however the indicators could be prevented. It particularly relies upon on what motives your brother's allergies. Mine is often dirt and warm climate. yet i think of the classic technique is utilising the administration inhaler. I cured my allergies the organic way?
