Congratulations on graduating....I remember years ago how thrilled I was that day.....best wishes in your plans for the future....

Think food that is safe that won't spoil easily, plus easy to prepare early so you won't be rushed.

a veggie tray with a wonderful dip would be great. It would be colorful and healthy..and you can wash the veggies early and have them in plastic bags and prepare the dips the night before and label them so it's easy to know one from the other. Ranch dressing is great and not too strong tasting like garlic......or that spinach dip you use with the envelope of ranch dressing...cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, celery sticks..cauliflower and broccoli and some blanched green beans...you put them in boiling water for a couple minutes then plunge them in ice water bath..then remove and dry on paper towels...it sets the color..

You can buy some corned beef at the deli and some swiss cheese and put sandwiches together on small party rye breads with some grey poupon mustard. It would be easy to eat and not messy.

bags of frozen chicken wings cut like drumsticks..are great with a asian marinate..like teriyaki sauce....you can find the recipe on the bottle....all you do is marinate the chicken then place in the oven the day of the party...they can be served hot or cold....

for something sweet...brownies....you can do this ahead too....make some blonde ones..and chocolate .they would be very nice on platters together...the blonde ones are made with brown sugar...and the regular ones you can just add powdered sugar on top if you dont' want to frost them.....just don't over bake them so they are moist.....

Hope this helps you ..have a wonderful party and great summer...hugs from Jazzy Geri

The day before, Go to costco or the supermarket and get the precooked shrimp that peeled and deveined. In a large serving tray or bowl add some crushed ice, then add the shrimp on top. Serve with a side of cocktail sauce, and lemon wedges.

Easy shrimp cocktail!

finger foods are always best. You can offer several different choices to your guests and their many needs, likes and dislikes. So easy too.........here are a two of my favorite recipes.........

Fruit Dip ( I really like it with Strawberries)
1 eight oz. package of cream cheese
1 jar of marshmallow cream (only comes in one size here)

With hand mixer, beat both creams together until smooth. Serve cold with fruit as a dip.......so YUMMY!

Baby Doughs:
Flour Tortillas
Cream cheese (1 8oz block)
Diced green chilies (med. can)
Chopped olives (Sm. can)
Pimentos (Sm. jar)
by hand........mix all items except tortillas....it's really messy! spread goop on tortillas evenly and roll. Put "log" in fridge until firm (won't take too long) cut log about one inch bits size pieces.

Enjoy! If you are looking for more of a sit down type thing....let me know. I have a few of those up my sleeve too.

BTW~ Congratulations on your Graduation!

This is a dessert but hey

Easy Nesquik™ Butterfinger Dessert

"Graham cracker stacks are filled with crunchy Butterfinger-filled whipped cream for an unusual and yummy dessert. Kids will enjoy assembling this dessert almost as much as they enjoy eating it!"
Yields 8 servings.

1 1/2 cups whipping cream
1/2 cup Chocolate Flavor NESTLE® NESQUIK™ Syrup, divided
3 (2.1 ounce) bars NESTLE® BUTTERFINGER® Candy Bar, finely chopped, divided
30 graham cracker squares

1BEAT cream in large mixer bowl until soft peaks form. Gradually beat in 1/4 cup Nestle Nesquik until stiff peaks form. Stir in 1 cup Butterfinger pieces.
2SPREAD about 1 heaping teaspoon whipped cream mixture evenly onto each of 6 graham cracker squares; stack. Place stack on side on long platter or baking sheet. Repeat with remaining graham crackers and whipped cream mixture until 5 stacks are assembled. Press stacks together to form a loaf.
3SPREAD remaining whipped cream mixture over top and sides of graham cracker loaf. Top with remaining Butterfinger pieces.
4REFRIGERATE for at least 2 hours or overnight. To serve, slice diagonally across loaf into 1-inch slices. Place each slice on plate and top with remaining Nestle Nesquik.

best things to serve are easy things that people can eat standing around especially if its an open house you want things that can sit around. Cold cut trays, Salads, Chips, Meatballs and such would be best.

pizza by the ton. damn near everyone'll eat it, you can get almost anything on, or off of it you want, heck you can even add your own toppings aftermarket. it always washes down well with a coke to boot, and if you find a collegiant/high school student that wont eat pizza, show me a picture i have yet to meet one
