I'm so sick and tired of everyone saying christians are this and christians are that. When is everyone going to relize that christianity is about your own personal walk with Christ? God gives eveybody a choice to do exactly what they want to do. So if a person wants to go to church, claim Christ as their savior, pray and then turn around and kill somebody, then they just have that choice, God didn't create robots. You cant associate the personal choices of people with those of all christians. That's just like saying because a white guy with a beard robbed you, then all white guys with beards are theives. If some christians judge or do wrong, then they'll have to deal with God themselves, but for a person to use that as an excuse to reject christianity is stupid. When we all go to judgement and stand before God, he's not going to accept you saying that the only reason u didn't accept him was because of someone else's walk with him. It's about what YOUR choice is. So whats your pick?

The funny thing about some of your answers is that you straight ignored the whole point I just made. You are still grouping Christians together because of certain peoples actions. Why should I be considered a bad person or a hypocrite just because some of you met some christians who are? Man, I still won't judge though. I just think it's such a shame that so many people have absolutely no knowledge of Christ. God wants us to spread the knowledge of him, so that's what christians are doing when we tell you about him. As far as the science books goes to the gentleman with the son, I wouldn't want to be taught a lie.......would you?

You make a number of excellent observations, but trying to convince or convert in this type of forum is at best a crap shoot. Jesus related to people on a personal level. When someone is ready to accept the truth under the guidance of the Holy Spirit someone will be there to help them take their first step. If you're not called to save the whole world by all means don't try to do so.

You are the exception to what everyone has come to know as a christian. I believe that Christianity should be practice just the way that you have described. But, just like with any with any race or social group, there is a stereo-type for Christians. And I am sorry to say that in my experience nearly all of the Christians that I have met, have supported and proven the stereotype. It would be nice if more Christians were the way that you describe, but trying to prove that there are many more like you will be hard to do with the more vocal Christians typically being ones that turn out to support and prove the stereotype.
Sorry, but that is the down-side of being in a group that has a negative stereo-type.

Organized religion is for the weak-minded. What is particularly annoying about Christians especially is their seemingly constant need to go out and recruit more weak-minded, whiny idiots just like them.
"God" did not create humans; humans created God as a concept, in language, to answer imponderables and to explain terrifying, inexplicable, or unpleasant phenomena and circumstances. The Bible, both old and new testaments, were written by human beings, and the contents of the new testament in particular reflect a great deal of political wrangling and political action, all of which goes to show just how deeply "christianity" moves to control its followers, just as does any other organized religion.
Arguably, organized religion is the biggest source of "evil" and certainly the greatest sources of suffering, violence, and inhumanity on the planet. I promise you, we'd be a heck of a lot better off on this planet without Christ, Allah, Jehovah, Yahweh, Ganesh, Shiva, or any of the other "Gods" that are giving people an excuse to butcher each other.

I really like your concern here. I would just add the fact that we have many believers in Christ but few followers. Too many Christians knock on the door and when it opens they choose to stand in the doorway and never walk fully into the room for spiritual growth and maturity. If you call yourself a believer you do well but the devil also believes and trembles. We are not called to save the world but to make disciples of men and this means that Christians are to go beyond infancy and to take up the cross and follow. unless a grain fall to the ground and die it will have no fruit. Be more than a believer, be a follower.

You do make a very good point. But I dont believe in Christ as our savior and the reason is not the actions of other people who claim to be Christian. You seem really frustrated with other peoples faith or lack there of. What do you care? You believe, then believe, who cares what other people are saying? Isnt your walk enough for you? I have a feeling that you might consider any reason for rejecting Christianity stupid, but everyone is entilted to their own beliefs, or lack there of, and their own reasons behind it and it is really none of your business. However, to be a real Christain takes work and dedication, so I think a lot of people will use any excuse they can think of as long as they can blame other people and dont have to look inside themselves and realize that they are just not strong enough.

Because oh great and overly simple one. Christianity as a religion was created and modified over the years as a means to oppress the masses and control them with complete nonsense. Anyone who studied any amount of history and cultures will see that worshipping in any form has ALWAYS been a tool to control and oppress the masses. So, to turn an ignorant eye to the evil basis of your religion and the hate it is designed to spread is called "guilt by association". If you are at a White Supremacy rally and a dozen minorities are lynched and killed are you going to say "well some supremacists choose to do bad things, but I chose not too. So, that makes White Supremacy a wonderful thing to follow" You religion SPREADS HATE AND VIOLENCE AND TAKES YOUR MONEY!!! WAKE UP BUDDY!

I read it and you haven't converted me. I justify rejecting religion because there's no proof...period. I don't believe everything I read and even less of what I hear. It seems like you're talking about good and bad Christians/Catholics/Jews/etc., because anyone who is a believer would try and live their life by a certain set of values; not do as they please and give a couple of Hail Mary's and be forgiven for their "sins". Or become a preacher so they have access to little boys. Or fight there neighbors because they believe in something else. Or kill someone and find God in jail to shorten their sentence. Or...etc. If there is a judgment day then God will forgive me for being naive. Until then it's garbage.

As a Christian you probably need to take some responsibility for the worst Christians out there because they reflect upon you. You know the ones, those who are constantly judging others and wagging the finger, calling people sinners and politically agitating to deny others certain rights just because they don't approve.
Christians are only as good as their weakest link...in the eyes of everybody else.
Perhaps you could to be more vocal in your criticism of the Christians who are letting other Christians down and giving all Christians a bad name.
I certainly don't object to people following their own faith in private and in their places of worship, it's when they try to impose their Christian religious law on those of us of different religions or none that trouble is made...hence the criticisms.

I am a believer and while I know your question was directed at non-believers, I wanted to write. I'm not suprised by how many non-believers there are on here. It's apparent to me that there would be far more believers in this world if they understood that hell is a REAL place and one which they would never want to go to. I don't see what anyone has to lose by believing that Christ was our Savior so we may have eternal life after death. I'd rather take my chances and believe that God exists and that Christ was his son than take a chance in hell for eternity. Just my two cents.

I have heard this before. Many many times. You are not the first one to say such things, and you won't be the last one either.
I do agree that not all christians are "this or that". There are some really COOL christians I would not mind taking out to coffee and cheesecake. :-) I met a few off-line and online. :-)
Christianity the spirituality or the personal relationship is not for me at this time of my life. :-) I like SOME of Jesus' teachings....but I reject his divinity and cannot bring myself to believe in "god" either. That is all there is to it.
