I have a samsung digimax camera and have been a little dissapointed by it. I can't zoom and my pictures don't turn out like I want. I want near perfection without hassle or cost. Is it hopeless?

Thanks for your suggestions~ I've been researching for a day since them...
My current camera seems to take pictures that turn out fuzzier... I wonder if it's on the wrong setting-ie close up instead of portrait, etc. Is there a certain MP or zoom I should be looking for? I guess I don't know the difference. I have a 3.2 MP and if there is a zoom it's lousy. I want an all around good camera that takes good focused pictures of landscape, people, and close up things-clearly. I had better clarity with my 35mm film camera.

Canon A-520 and above are awesome. Has starter point-and-shoot to advanced features. These cameras are available at very inexpensive price (around $150) and are really reliable and good.

I had a canon A95 digital camera and it was not as good as people made it out to be. I recently bought the casio exlilim Z-60 and it is a great camera.
The camera takes pictures instantly, no long delay, like in my canon camera. The quality of the pictures are great, there are many shooting modes to use, and the camera is really easy to use. The screen is also very big 2.5' and the camera is very slim. It is easy to carry around and take places. I am very happy with my purchase. I did a lot of research before I bought this camera.

try canon powershot a510 gets good reviews zoom x 4 optical. got the auto shot so just point and shoot if want. go for about $170 but if you look around maybe get for $140-150 try amazon.com on a Friday should be free shipping and used to be discount prices on Fridays. Maybe still got the deal if you sign up and use their credit card will get another $30 off I did about 8 months ago. I got the canon like it easy on batteries takes only 2 AA Not: its a 3.2 pixcal which is good enough for a fairly good 8x10 no larger 4x6 real good

get an A620. it's cheap and it has the best reviews around.
from novice to advanced.
7.1 megapixels
4x zoom
swivel LCD that lets you take pictures at the ground level, up above you, your OWN face... just about any angle.
and great pictures!

Try looking for a refurbished camera, they aren't brand new but you can get a better camera for cheaper than a brand new one
