we've had 2 cats now, who both seem to like human ear wax. I know its a bit horrible but I wonder why they like it? Has anyone elses cats displayed this inclination?

Cats like earwax using heady scent of animal proteins and the fatty acids recent in earwax. Cats do not have a sense of style like human beings so that they don't discover it bitter or bitter. they have an tremendously reliable sense of scent that facilitates them scent the protein contained in the earwax.

Oh man!!! Awesome -- - Mr Peepers (my cat right now) absolutely LOVES earwax. . . . and my husband and I think it's the funniest thing in the world. . .also - he had a cat as a young lad and his cat Wiggins loved ear wax too!!!!
Thank God there is someone else out there with the same funny cats!

i think it is just something close to u. it probably seems to have a bodily smell to it, so they like it. yeah my cats sometimes steal the used q-tips from the garbage, totally gross, but i think that is mostly cause they want to gnaw on the cotton. my cats always want to smell my ears too, or want to get closer when i havent yet showered, maybe it has something to do with 'animalistic/naural' smells, as opposed to what they might usually smell on us, that they dont like, such as perfume, hair spray, lotion etc. interesting question though

It's more like a love of a clean ear canal. They know from experience that YOUR tongue won't reach, so they're just lending you a helping hand.
Yeah, I know - gross but warm and fuzzy all at once.

why you wonder!?!?!?
that is nasty!
....
Animals like nasty stuff, I don´t know why, I had a dog that used to take the papers out of the toilet, and a dog that eats the Q-tips (ear cleaning isotopes), animals are nasty but lovely...

animals tend to like weird tastes. they don't have as wide a variety of flavors that they can experience as we do. so to us it would taste bad (i think) but to them they just taste salt or something... animals also like the taste of anti-freeze. but it kills them... makes me wonder if it actually tastes good, but i don't want to risk drinking it.
