I am a vegetarian because of my religion and because I believe in vegetarianism. I have been a vegetarian all my life. I have done without meat all my life and never missed it. I do drink milk, but don't eat tuna, chicken or eggs. I am a lacto-vegetarian. I believe in eating food that was not got by killing an animal. I do not like the smell of meat and especially fish.
Why do non-vegetarians have to attack a vegetarian, just because they are not vegetarians? Why the abuse? Vegetarians are not asking you to stop eating your meat...they don't eat meat.
Vegetarians are vegetarians for many reasons -- animal rights, health reasons etc.
Avoiding meat may sound like a bad idea, but most dietary and medical experts agree that a well-planned vegetarian diet can actually be a very healthy way to eat.
Most people think vegetarians eat tuna, chiken and eggs. That is not true. There are different types of vegetarians:
* ovo-vegetarian - eats eggs; no meat
* lacto-ovo vegetarian - eats dairy and egg products; no meat
* lacto-vegetarian - eats dairy products; no eggs or meat
* vegan - eats only food from plant sources
The choice to be a vegetarian is personal. If you have a solid reason to be a vegetarian, go ahead. But, if you have a love for meat, you won't last long as a vegetarian. I don't miss meat or other non-vegetarian stuff, because never had it and never want to.
The long-term health benefits of a vegetarian diet when compared with a non-vegetarian diet are lower prevalence of hypertension (one-third to one-half lower), reduced cholesterol levels, lower rates of cancer (25 to 50% lower), and lower prevalent of obesity, among other benefits.
One study of developmental tests in vegetarian children showed that their mental age was more than a year beyond their chronological age, and their mean IQ scores were well above average.
No matter what others think, I would never want to eat meat, fish, chicken or eggs. I love being a vegetarian.

I think if you don't like the taste of meat or don't like the idea of eating animals usually makes a person a vegetarian. i also think that's fine for some people but it is healthier to eat meat in a well balanced diet than it is to be a vegetarian. You should not be a vegetarian if you like meat.
If a person is a vegetarian because they don't want to eat an animal then you should not eat eggs, fish, tuna either!!

Vegetarians think that by eating only vegetables, they're saving animals, but in fact, so many millions of animals are killed while those foods that vegetarians will only eat are being harvested. Here's an article explaining it more thoroughly:

But they tend to either not know this fact, or completely ignore it, because they have the personality and IQ of a deformed genitalia.

Well, I am a vegetarian because the meat industry is incredibly cruel in the US. They place cattle, pigs, chickens, etc. in tiny cages and pump them full of hormones so that they will fatten up. Then they kill them by letting them bleed to death. What type of quality of life is that? Cows, pigs, chickens, etc. should be allowed to roam free in fields and eat a natural diet until they are needed for slaughter. If I could be guaranteed that all meat that I ate was free range and hormone free, then I would eat meat.

In response to Calivane's "genetalia" remark, not all vegetarians refrain from eatting meat because they don't believe in killing animals. See my above explanation for my reasoning. Don't be so narrow-minded.

you shouldn't become a vigetarian there is no reason, they want to be different but they are all the same ....
the animal is already dead , so why become a hippocrite, stick with the meat, becuase i know that just a hand full of poeple who don't eat meat are not going to change anything anytime soon ,becuase i know i'm not going to convert to a vegetarian and i know i;'m not going to raise my kids to become vegetarians , so they are missing out, olus the animal need to die yes it is sad but or else the planet gets over populated , and such...

it's a personal choice ... for information on why people might make this choice, go to the PETA website. keep in mind they are the most radical about this, many vegetarians don't feel as strongly as they do. (at least in my experience).

biologically, your body is heathlier when you have a good diet, including meat. we were made to eat meat and vegetables, and unless you have a personal stance on the issue, i would encourage you to continue eating meat.

Because if you become a vegetarian there will be less vegans. And thats a good thing. If we all became vegetarians the world would be a better place because we will have rid it of the vegan scourge.

well, I'm also a vegetarian and i like to be veggy. it is also because I'm from a Hindu family and belongs to the marwari castes but, i know the benefits of remaining veggy. although, fishes, egg e.t.c provide a lot of proteins, amino acids, animal protein and a lots of useful things, but it provides fats to the body and has disadvantages too. vegetarians have been anecdotally reported to have lower body mass indices than non vegetarians,as well as low rates of death from Ischemic heart disease. vegetarians also show lower blood cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, type2 diabetes, and prostate and colon cancer.

being a vegan means you choose your health than your appetite for real tasty treats. it's always good to remember: we Eat to Live. NOT LIve to Eat.

For me, take everything in moderation. I like eating meat but too much of it would be bad for my health, at least, I know that.
