I was diagnosised with AA two years ago. I see a AA specialist at M.D. Anderson hospital in Houston. Since I worked for a sheriff's office and routinely worked around a Shell refinery she initially believed that it was probably exposure to benzine. Over the course of the last two years and after studying her patients, she remarked at my last check up that she strongly suspects the underlying cause is viral.

Her reasoning was that almost 100% of her patients, despite improved blood counts in all areas, constantly complain of flu like fatique. That is the case for me. Despite having decent red blood cell counts, I always feel like I am coming down with the flu.
