I just recently found out that I have herpes. My boyfriend of 2.5 years left that out when we moved in together. I have kicked him to the curb. I've gone to the doctor but i'm still in pain. Does any one have if so please email me I want to find out as much as I can.

Luckily there are treatments for this, but no cure. As long as you keep on treatments you can reduce the symptoms, but make sure you see a doctor immediately to start to get treated. Also, if you get pregnant tell the doctor that you have this, because they take precautions when the child is born to keep it from getting this too.

I know how you feel I was with my ex for almost 5 years. He cheated on me and gave me herpes. Of course I didn't want to get it, as I'm sure you didn't either, but you have to think positive. I got it when I just turned 17! My parents and younger brothers were very supportive. At least it is not life threatening like HIV/AIDS!

The initial outbreak can take weeks to heal! My blisters were so painful I started bawling when the doctor was checking me and I had to call off of work for a few days. There really is nothing you can do except take your medicine. I was prescribed valacyclovir (Valtrex) and Vicodin for the pain. I usually take a lot of nice warm baths, wear soft under ware and pajama pants and rest a lot when I am having an outbreak, and of course take my medicine.

The more years that pass the less outbreaks you will have. I have about one outbreak a year if that and I don't take the medicine daily, I only take it when I am having a outbreak. The medicine is pretty expensive and it made me really sick and dizzy.

I hope this helps! I know how you feel girl! Email me if you have any questions. Good luck!

One of my best friends has herpes and although it may be hard to deal with right now things will get better. She has to take medicine everyday for the rest of her life because of a creep that she had sex with and didn't tell her. Keep your head up.

I'm sorry this happened to you, but don't feel alone. Many adults are infected with this. It is not the end of your world. Just educate yourself as much as you can about it.

I was once tested "on suspicion of"; turns out the only thing I had wrong with me was an overdose of vitamin c, which was excreting itself through my urine!
