My son was born with a heart murmur. He is now 4 years old. He's intelligent, healthy, and active. My wife and I were pretty concerned at the time, but the doctors told us not to worry. They also told us there was a good chance it would go away in a few years. As of his last check up a few months ago, it was still there, but smaller, and it still might go away. The doctors tell us that it should have no impact on his size or ability to do anything, and so far they have been right. They tell us that the only real concern going forward is that if he ever has surgery (for something else, not this) he will likely need to have antibiotics to avoid infection, so doctors will need to know about the murmur if he ever requires any type of surgery. Good luck with your baby!

My daughter (who is now 12) has a heart murmur. She is active and sporty, smart (all a's) and it has not been a problem.

My uncle (now in his 60's) was born with a pronounced heart Murmur (quite premature) when he was born. He is over 6 feet and looks healthy, works as a bank manager and I don't think it has slowed him down for a second.

I have a heart murmur from some diet drugs I took earlier on.

The only thing is that you need antibiotics before you go in for a dental appt.

YES, BABIES CAN LIVE LONG AND PROSPER WITHOUT MEDICAL INTERVENTION

DON'T BE UNDULY CONCERNED. WE ARE NOT ALL UNIFORMLY "PERFECT" GRACE IN LIVING WITH THE GRACE OF INDIVIDUAL DESIGNS : )

MY COUSIN HAD MURMUR. SOME M.D. SAID ALARMING THINGS. SHE WAS TREATED AS DELICATE LITTLE THING DENIED SOME ACTIVITIES. SHE
LIVED LONG AND PROSPERED.

I HAD THE SAME WITHOUT M.D. ALARM. LIVED USUAL LIFE.

ELEVATIONS MAY CAUSE OXYGEN DEPRIVATION DEPENDING UPON SEVERITY

I ALWAYS SUGGEST

AVOID MEDICAL INTERVENTION AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
BUT THAT'S ME
