We would suffer terrible backlash and the cost of doing business would skyrocket, simple economics, No more tomato pickers ,no more restaurant workers No more Construction workers etc etc ..Truth is we are hypocrite's and we don't appreciate the great Job they do ,in spite of the wages we pay and the fact they sacrifice being separated from there children and love ones to be here and WORK.......
Some of the major chains (Chili's ) are already complaining Nursery's and tree farms are considering selling or closing, and this is just the beginning !
You see this is a POLITICAL problem , Republicans have had a strangle hold on the US for 15 years ,so much so the DEMOCRATS don't even have the power to Indite the criminals anymore . OK so what happens is we have a amnesty and we get 12 million NEW DEMOCRATS ? GIVING INDITEMENT POWER TO THE UNDERDOG PARTY , republicans will be indited and go to Jail for all there crimes
Now you understand there Concern and fear.
This is strickly POLITICAL , the Illigals have been here for 20 to 30 years unable to make a good life living without rights or privilage, or even with hope of reuniting there familys, while we enjoy the benefits of there misfortune. We have grown accostume to low prices controled inflation and we are hipocrites and very ungrateful . We even complain that the money they make is use to help and feed there kids back home .
Kids that are forced to live appart from there moms and dads because of FAILED imigration Policies that MAKE people iligal because if they could fill a FORM and Pay an Amount at a window , There would be ZERO iligals .
Why dont we Legalize them 3,000.00 a pop they will pay iligal income tax Just like us and the Goverment gets One LUMP $360,000,000,000.00 In revenue and we would have 12 million new Tax payers, Then you could Lower taxes....
We end iligals at the same time ....This would help rebuild American Vaneshishing unskilled labor force and we could bring American companys HOME , instead of making CHINA and India RICH ...
You see this is a POLITICAL problem , Republicans have had a strangle hold on the US for 15 years , There worried about paying the piper for there crimes , Mexicans are not Muslums there christians.....we have no beef with them....
Oh and all this bullshit abot costing us money is a darn lie they make us alot of money, they have no rights to anything at all including a drivers licence !!! who are you kidding ?
Its easy to understand how sheeple are controled and why most do not even understand economy, we dont teach it in school ....
The Americans are the ones collecting law suits and Un employement as well as wellfare and all that you complain about and they just dont want to work PERIOD...Be honest to your self , why belive lies when you know its a lie !!!
Noone wants to talk about reality lets blame the Mexicans ..lmao

The tightening market is not generally tightening in the lower educational levels, as I understand it. I am sure that if there were mass deportations, there would be dislocation, however, just as if any group of employees up and left their jobs. Wages would go up, maybe even up to where they were prior to such a large influx of cheap labor. Whether that is good or bad depends on whether you are an employer or a worker.
According to studies, the huge influx of immigration has not 'youthened' our population because immigrants bring in family, including the elderly who will compete for scarce services and benefits with our own elderly and baby boomers as the baby boomers retire. If we need workers, I am sure we can find some willing to come in under work visas who have not already shown a tendancy to consider overstaying or lack of documents to be no issue at all.
The fact is, if they would secure the border, enforce against employers and deport the nasties, I'd rather keep the illegals we have than have the guest worker program increase going forward. However, we can't afford even one of those groups without damage to our domestic education and services; we certainly can't afford both.

The natural progression of business would take care of everything. Some places would close. Some wages would rise until there was a labor balance and then it would stagnate. Then some people would leave those jobs and do other things and wages would fall and some illegals would try to get jobs and wages would fall some more and we would kick them out and the cycle would repeat itself until someone invented a portable fusion reactor that could change a cheeseburger to an Oldsmobile and then we would not need workers of any kind.

first nothing about the minimum wage has anything to do with mexicans. is is the starting wage for teens and uneducated. illegal workers get paid cash so, so the wages equal to about $2-3.00 an hour. if we cracked down on the companies that are highering them it would make a change. but in politics that doesn't bother the real money makers. it has nothing to do with their everyday lives. if there were some educated immigrants(not saying there aren't,some are very educated from there countries) that came in to take a high cooperate job. I am sure there would be some red flags flowing there.

Pull your head out of your *** about the immigrants, besides their not going to deport them and your not going to get an american to work for the wage most of the immigrants work for because their so damn lazy and want everything given to them and not have to put a hard days work into it to earn a legitimate dollar. Face it americans would rather have someone do the low paying jobs so they wouldnt have to do it but will jump on the ban wagon and ***** when idiots like u bring up how much their missing out on this wonderful 5.00 dollars an hour their making that an american wouldnt even think about attempting because its not worth their time and energy.

first of all we have laws that most of us legals have to abide by. a ssn is required, and we have to pay taxes. most of us have to pay for health insurance to some degree. illegals are here living the dream that was meant for us, the citizens of the united states of america. the government gives and gives and gives to these people, and us middle income workers foot the bill. i've been working since i was 13 years old. my parents taught me the work ethic. the government gives me nothing, but a hand that says. we need more tax money from you because you are here legally. i want my taxes to go down, and i want the illegals out of this country. there are many middle class and even lower class incomes that could use an extra 16-20k per year. and the legals that sit on their fat asses everday, with no intent of working, need to be put to work, instead of the free ride they are currently getting.

Why the same lame argument about illegals only taking jobs no one wants, that is a crock of $hit, there are more illegals working on good paying jobs with stolen social security numbers than illegals working on low paying jobs, and the ones that work on low paying jobs are being subsidized by our stupid government with welfare entitlements on the shoulders of the american taxpayers, most americans can't get health care but illegals have bankrupt several hospitals in california with sheer numbers.

Well let's see. Assuming that undocumented workers work for less than minimum wage... and that your normal citizens would take the jobs at minimum wage (which probably not.. they get better welfare benefits)... prices for all the goods and services the undocumented workers produce would go up. Produce.. poultry.. cleaning and gradening obviously. Probably some restraunts.

Lowest in history because the way that unemployment was counted was altered during the Regan era so that his 14% unemployment figures were halved to 7%.
Just something to think about.

I don't think anything would happen to the labor market. That isn't the point. The point is that there are refugees waiting to enter this country and they can't enter because of security issues. But illegals can walk across the border and get citizenship. That isn't fair.
