I'm not sure there is a good side, except for it tastes sugary and gives you a burst of energy.

I'm not sure what to think of the "studies" about soda giving its heavy drinkers esophagus cancer...since one said it does and another study says it does not. But it sure does feel like it softens the teeth and can probably do (at least) temporary damage to the esophagus lining.

It can cause weight gain, since no one stays young forever and metabolisms will slow down. A bigger concern is diabetes. All that sugar getting pumped into the system all at once...can't be good.

Then there is caffine. Caffine *is* considered a substance, not a food, since it has no nutrituional value. I don't know how much caffine it would take, but it is also a known psychotic...which means if you take enough, you can get psychotic episodes (although I'm betting it would be a hell of a lot of caffine).

All those other chemicals probably aren't so great either.

But then, sometimes, really, you just *need* a soda.

Some nutritionists assert that the phosphoric acid component of Pepsi-Cola, and other similar soft drinks, may be deleterious to bone health in both men and women, with some studies finding the effects to be more notably pronounced in female subjects. In children soft drink consumption plays a significant risk factor for calcification of growing bones. See phosphoric acid in food.

Pepsi and other similar products contain a lot of sugar. An excessive intake of sugar has been suspected as a contributing factor in certain kinds of diabetes. Sugar is also a leading contributor to tooth decay. In addition, both 'diet' and non-diet variants are highly acidic, which is a cause of degradation of tooth enamel, making decay due to subsequent sugar intake more likely. This is particularly exacerbated when a drink is sipped at frequent intervals throughout the day. Heavy soft drink consumption interferes with metabolism and ruins nerve impulse transmissions.

I love my Pepsi, but keep it down to no more than one can a day. Too much caffeine, from any source is not good for you, especially all the sugar. Try to limit your Pepsi to one or two cans per day. If you drink more than that, I can only try to understand how hard it would be to cut back. You are wished well.

Cavities. Also it can cause weight gain. You should not drink soda EVERYDAY. it should be consumed every once and a while or only once or twice a week. Daily is bad just like a bunch a day is bad too.

I don't know all the effects, but here are a couple:

1. Rots your teeth
2. Weight gain - there are many unnecessary calories in a pepsi. Liquid calories are the easiest way to gain weight, and people don't realize that.

lets put it this way. Oil on the drive way can be washed away with pepsi with ease. Imagine the effects of that in your stomach. Its damaging to the stomach wall and intestine.

Bad side-effects: You gain weight, you're jittery due to the caffeine, and your teeth rot.

Good side-effects: The caffeine can help keep you awake when you need to.
And it just tastes great!

It makes you burp, and it makes you have really bad breath.

It also make you have to pee a lot.

The good side is, its pleasantly flavored, and has corn syrup and caffein - good for your blood sugar (unless your diabetic.)

I think burping is good. It makes you burp. Maybe you can win a prize by burping your ABC's on America's Funniest Videos. There's got to be something good....
