some one said to me "a smile goes a long way" and that most people when smiled at will smile back out of instinct... and because it's a universal means of communication for human beings.... this morning I tried to test out that idea, so on my way to work, I smiled at anyone who I made eye contact with... although I did get a number of smiles back, mostly from women, for the most part I got dirty looks... and one guy threw his coffee across the hood of my pick-up truck. what I want to know is why are people so angry? how come when greeted by a simple smile they respond with hostility?

If you did.. was it the worst experience of your life?

I used to and I'm just wondering how everyone else's work days there went.

I went on a drive the other day and noticed cameras on every light at every intersection, at every retail shop, and at every gas station. I hear in some major cities, even privately owned cameras are interconnected. I know Britain is even worse; the cameras can "tell" you to pick up litter or cease and desist. Does CCTV make society safer and/or more accountable? How do you feel about police operated UAVs? In order to even the score should there be public access to surveillence networks?
