Girl in Wales finds lucky whale vomit

BANGOR, Wales (UPI) -- A vacationing 10-year old girl is set to become 3,500 pounds -- about $6,633 -- richer from a lump of whale vomit she found on a beach in Wales.

The Sun reported Melissa Cathcart of St. Helens, Merseyside, England, was beachcombing on an island when she came across the waxy substance known as ambergris, also called "floating gold."

Ambergris is used in perfume production to slow evaporation and is worth 10 pounds a gram.

"We recently heard on the radio about ambergris, but when Melissa found some I couldn't believe it!" said Kay, the girl's mother. Kay had reportedly taken the 350-gram lump to the SeaQuarium in Rhyl.

Experts suggested the lump of ambergris probably floated from the Pacific before shoring up on Shell Island, Gwynedd, North Wales.

I hate how people judge others on what they do to there own bodies. I have a friend who is a great person, and likes to smoke some weed and have a few drinks sometimes. He gets shoved down by everyone because he smokes marijuana. I dont get why. He is always there whenever me or anyone of his other friends are in trouble, and gets good grades. But for some reason everyone insists on making him out as a "pot head" or bad person.

There are many people out there who smoke marijuana, cigarettes, and drink. Television ads and school curriculums have made them out as bad people because of it. This is completely unacceptable. Yes smoking and drinking in excess is not good, but it doesnt make someone a bad person because of it.

Children are being labeled as "pot heads" by there peers. These children have never done anything bad that someone could judge them on as a person. BIg deal if the smoke a little, what does that have to do with there character. Get what I'm saying?
