and if it is, what can happen?

It's very easy to become addicted to it. Especially when you start relying on it to get to sleep at night - you find it harder and harder to sleep without it.

This can cause a bad form of insomnia.

Tylenol PM is made to help with fevers and pains, with an extra ingredient to make you sleep through the night despite pain. It's not for people without pain or fever to get to sleep - that's not what it was designed to do. Talk to a doctor to find out how to sleep easier.

Is Tylenol Pm Addictive

Ok. Before I was pregnant I used to take Tylenol PM to get to sleep sometimes. There were some days that I would take it 5 days in a row or more. Then I forced myself not to take them for a few days and sometimes I'd just go right back. The commercials that I've seen say they aren't addictive but honestly I think they could end up being that way. I am pregnant and I was told I can take Tylenol PM sporadically but I have not yet and I won't. It was hard at first because some days I just wanted it and felt like I needed it so bad but I didn't. I'm 6 months pregnant & I just deal with not sleeping a lot by trying to nap or at least lay down during the day sometime curled up with a book.

Yeah you can get addictive to really anything, just ask anyone addicted to something like chocolate. But as for Tylenol PM, it will make you have too take more to fall asleep and you can eventually OD by taking too much and it harms your internal organs in high doses eg liver.

I know this isn't quite the answer to your question, but you need to know that you should absolutely NOT take Tylenol PM regularly to get to sleep. Tylenol PM contains Tylenol (obviously) for pain relief and diphenhydramine (Benadryl) for sedation. If you do not need the pain relief you should take plain diphenhydramine, which you can buy in the form of Benadryl, Simply Sleep, or Unisom.

The active ingredient in Tylenol, acetaminophen, can over time cause liver and kidney damage. It is ok to take Tylenol once in a while but if you take it every day for a long time you can cause damage.

He'd try to quite for a while then boom he just couldn't live without them. He was hooked let me tell ya. but eventually he sought help from a few friends and a phyciatrist and a friendly priest. now he's cool. and doing a lot better.

Visit this website and read up about it from the manufacturer.

Looking at the site, I think it is completely possible to become dependent on them.

Take care.

every drug has some sort of dependency. your body will eventually create a tolerance for it making you need more and more to calm the cravings. try another alternative like melatonin vitamins. that is the chemical your brain releases to let your body know your tired. its a lot healthier and wont make you dependent.
