well never ever know either way, so why belive in the false image that alot of people let run thier lives ?
i personnally belive there is no point in letting yourself beilve in a "god"
its been proved that religion is the downfall of society, so why doesnt society change?

You are getting your wish! In the past 30 years society has made dramatic changes. In the mid 60's people still respected the concept of religion being a part of our lives. Though many may not have been believers, they still respected those who were. Ministers were looked up to and respected, even though they may have had their faults. No religious people are made fun of and ridiculed to their face. All you need do is read many of the answers that are given in this section; there's no respect for what others believe about God.
So your wish is coming true; but I really wonder if you will like where society is going?

I really laughed out loud, LOL multiplied, when I read Daeve’s answer (about you not believing in spell check or capital letters either) and I gave a thumb up to Lizard who may be on to something…
Your question is one of those questions where the answers are more interesting.
That said, I will still answer it because you asked it and because I might be interesting too.
I think people believe in God because they were taught that way when they were kids and now they have faith, which they need. Faith is there for those who need it. Faith is basically the lack of proof so nobody needs to prove anything, not even God.
I think some people are basically afraid of death and the idea of life after death or a paradise or whatever they believe in, is reassuring for them.
I agree that the world would be a better place without religions. Imagine that…nobody killing each other because they have different religions…so it’s not really religion that is the downfall of society, it’s DIFFERENT religions.
If everybody had the same God, and the same faith, it would be easier.

Here are my thoughts on this subject:
1. I'd rather live as though there is a God and find out I'm wrong, than the other way around.
2. Why are you wasting your time on the religion and spirituality section if you think this way?
Seriously, try spell check. It just takes a second, and you'll seem a lot more credible if you don't look so stupid.
