Hey guys happy new year. i had my ps2 modded it plays pirated games but it doesnt not play dvd's. WHY?

ok i have a modded PS2 and this is how i play my dvd's:
1) theres this way that almost always works, i insert the dvd and then hold the reset button till the PS2 switches to standby (the light turns red) then i turn it back on and the movie works.
2)if that fails for me i turn on my PS2 with nothing inside and go to the browser screen and insert the dvd and wait for the dvd to show up on the main screen then press the x button to play the video
if that all fails (which usually does for me) its not compatible with the mod chip that i installed, which is kinda sad...

you can play DVDs if Ur PS2 i old style here is the guide (read carefully)
1-open your PS2 then eject the tray
2-close the PlayStation from the back while the tray is open
3-put Ur DVD on the tray that is open
4-open Ur PlayStation from the back and the front but don't let the tray close by itself
5-close the tray with the eject button while holding the button until it says (> play)

Because you've modded it and corrupted the ability to play dvs !

because it is modded, it may have messed around with the hardware needed to play DVDs...my only solution for you is to perhaps by a cheap DVD player at walmart for like 29.95..good luck tho
