I could of went to any party but chose to stay home with my soon to be husband who falls asleep early. Every New Year I wake him up at 2Min to 12 and hand him a 1/4 glass of Champagne. He sips tells me he loves me and goes back to sleep. On the 1st we have a huge BBQ. I never want to be in the big go out and make mistake scene again (been there done that) at the young age of 30 I would rather sit home with my man and puppy and get tipsy in the SAFETY (no DUIs) of my own home. WE ARE NOT NERDS OR LOSERS, JUST HIGHLY INTELLIGENT PEOPLE WHO KNOW BETTER!!!!

You know, I have enough fun during the year, and especially at Christmas parties that I have never had a need for New Years. Except this year I was downtown at around 8pm (I live in a major east coast city) and I saw all the women decked out to impress someone - that's when I feel left out.
I gotta get some single friends. All my friends are stable, married/engaged/committed. Sorry, but their New Years parties are lame. I need some single friends to go out on the town with on a night like tonight.

No, I could have gone to many public celebrations or accepted a few private invitiations. But I fear being a drunk driver causing harm to the innocent or being the victim of one.............I will not drink and drive!

All depends where in the world you are? Some have already had the NY party and suffering with a hangover, while others are still planning for it :-)

Actually, I'm spending New Year's Eve at work. For double time pay, I'll not miss the hangover. Feel free to have one on me, though.
Happy New Year.

No we are not losers but winners because we are safe in our homes. We do not have fight traffic of crowds of people just to get home.

Yup. All alone and feeling like a crotchety old woman because I want to yell at the people outside to shut the heck up.
