Not a question, but I have been getting error 999 (anyone else is experiencing this?) and I was not able to insert this link, which I just uploaded, to show Karen.

Earlier I was trying to tell her that the subject in her folio was standing in the sunlight, and she either should use a fill-in flash, or better yet, take the photos on a cloudy day like this one.

Canon 5D. Canon 100 mm Macro f 2.8 at ISO 600 at f 3.5 at 1/125 shutter speed. RAW format converted.

Thank you.

I did photo-chopped his face a bit. No teenage boy has a clear face like this. I think I overdid it a bit!

That 999 error kills my answers sometimes, as there is no point in posting an answer without an example. I have occasional trouble when referring to other (non-Yahoo!) sites, especially retail sites, but (so far) I have not had trouble linking to Flickr, which is owned by Yahoo!

Beside that, I like your "shadowless" portrait. It's not really over-done in this B&W version, in my opinion.

I just discovered a group on Flickr that has a LOT of portrait work: http://www.flickr.com/groups/the_training_ground/

Pooky, I get them a lot too - and very irritating it is as well... Yahoo ought to deal with it urgently as it's very off-putting.

I think it's connected to the links you post into your messages - though if they thought about it I am sure they wouldn't want to deter the biggest contributors... !

When this happens try going backwards, put in half the link and the introduce a return / line space half way through, which means you should now be able to post the information, then go back and re-edit to remove the line space.

It's a complete pain in the neck, though I understand why it happens, IMHO Yahoo ought to dedicate a HUMAN BEING to go through the auto response system and remove the barred links.

As for your portrait it's not - quite! - shadowless... and I'd suggest you try a little experiment with a reflector underneath, which will gently lift the mild shadows in the eyes and add an underside catchlight, which would give them a subtle but effective lift / shine too.

Best wishes, and happy new year... !

I have been getting the same error when trying to include a link in my answer. I hope it is resolved soon.

It's a good picture.
But not like seiorus photography, looks like a good Senior Picture to me.
