My feeling has always been to go to a cafe or a resaturant, but only have the desserts.
i mean, you can have dinner, but there is never really room for dessert.
you order four desserts and sample about. You will feel less bloated when you are done and then take a nice walk about

Gotta agree with bluecuttie. "Someplace Fun."
Stay away from booze and drugs. See how you relate on an even playing field.
Maybe try horse back riding, bowling, sightseeing in your area etc. Someplace public.

i went to a park and made a dinner picnic under a weeping willow at night as we watched the stars by the lake. that was my first date anyway

why not go out to dinner and maybe for a walk in the park or shopping at the mall... it just depends on your personalities. my husband and my first date was different. we met up at the mall after he got off work one day and then we went to the video store and rented movies, we ended up watching 4 movies in a row that night. it was the best first date i ever had.
