Great point but I am sure all the so called "devout" will explain it away. I choose to believe in a loving God and believe the Bible is flawed because it was written by flawed and biased humans. In addition I believe you can use the Bible as a guide for you life but as an intelligent person you must question some of the writings. How can anyone believe a document that they have no proof of origin of. Use the wisdom but keep THINKING!

The Kingdom of Heaven is within.
The war took place not "up there" but within you.

Jewel has the best answer. The war has NOT ended, but there will never be war in Heaven again. We were put here to demonstrate that given freedom of choice, we eventually choose good over evil. When all have made a final choice, there will be a final war (at Megiddo?). No one will ever again choose evil over good having seen the outcome. It is not that power of choice is gone, it will be our desire for good and peace and love and oneness that makes it Heaven.

The "Bible" has abreviated the the source that
line comes from. It is from the Book of Enoch.
Enoch is considered an apochryphal text by the
Catholic church. Meaning it's not to be considered
as Holy scripture. The Norse believed that only those who died in honor in battle got to go to
Valhalla(Heaven) where they would re-live their
victories in battle for eternity. The book of Enoch is the source for Dante's Inferno. Some of the levels of Hell are actually sections of heaven from the book of Enoch. Enoch goes deeper
into the race of Giants, from "the sons of God looked upon the daughters of man" section of
genesis. Enoch was the son of Noah and was
one of only two in the Bible ever to stand in the
presence of God. Also scripture says Enoch
didn't die but was taken to heaven in the flesh.
If your just trying to jerk the chain of the saved
ask; Why are both Jesus and Lucifer refered to
as the bright and shining morning star in the "Holy"
Bible.
I personally would rather spend an eternity at war
over an eternity with 72 virgins. Oh the endless
hours of which boyband is the cutest...Kill me a
thousand times in the here after.

the war that this is referring to happened when lucifer, the most beautiful and talented angel God created , became full of pride. He decided to rise up against God, inlisted a third of the angels in heaven and tried to overthrow Gods thrown. So, there was a battle between God and lucifer. Since God can in know way be over thrown, He won. Lucifer and 1/3 angels were thrown out of heaven and put on earth and Lucifer became Satan. Satan started the first war ever to happen.
Today, there is a spiritual war in progress. The reason this war is happening is becuase Satan wants to steal Gods creation and take them into eternal suffering, rather than eternal joy, like God inteneds for us. as christians we have the authority and responsibility to stop this from happening. He has given us the weapons to fight this spiritual war. Speaking the Word of God is the main offencive weapon we have. Thats why we are always quoting the bible. Satan can not fight against the Word of God, because the Word of God is God, and God is the highest power that has ever or will ever exist. God wins in the end.
There will be no need for war ever again because satan will be chained and gone. Satan is the creator of war, the reason for war. He fills people with evil intentions. when he is chained, all evi l will be chained also.

Because the bible is really just a document that is the product of revisionist history. It has been revised as "The St. James" version, which supports the philosophy of the Church of England. It was revised when King Henry VIII wanted to get a divorce from his wife at that time, but the catholic creed did not then, nor now approve of divorce. The catholics revised the stories presented in the bible as books that represented the verbal history of the 7 disciples that were associated with the activity of Joshua. The Greek Coptic religious philosophy changed the data available in one of the revisions to support their religious stance. So, while I do not accept the bible as a document of fact, I do accept the value for social conduct as presented in the Ten Commandments.

>> The Bible says "And there was war in Heaven" An
>> oxymoron? Why go there if we might end up warring
>> anyway?
Actually, that is not a bad question -- altogether. ;-) It is true that Heaven has been cleaned up and the violators have been permanently expelled. It is also true that God has promised to completely destroy the wicked, the devil, and his angels in the Lake of Fire. But, what about after that? Is it possible that Sin might crop up once more and start this misery all over again?
Well, God says no. God says that He is also going to permanently destroy Sin in that Lake of Fire, too. How can He do that? Sin isn't something that can be made or destroyed. Sin is just a concept -- as is Righteousness. What's to prevent someone from doing the same thing Lucifer did to start Sin in the first place?
Think about it... Why was Lucifer able to Sin? Now, I don't claim to have the answer to one of the Mysteries of Iniquity, but there is a logical thought process which can be applied here. Lucifer's problem was a matter of selfishness -- in that he questioned God's Motives and Judgments in ruling the Universe.
So, the reason no one will sin in the future, after Sin is destroyed, is because this whole process (of The Great Controversy) will have been settled once and for all. All remaining will know the True Character of God. There will be no more questions. Also, Jesus Christ will bear the scars in His head, hands, and feet for all eternity as a perpetual testimony of just what Sin costs.
God bless.

Yes, possible. In the Vedas too, there are descriptions of demons becoming very powerful and desiring to take over the heaven from the demigods. But the demigods being pious and the demons not; God always help the pious and the demons always loose. There is no place for demons in the kingdom of God.
This opens many questions to be clarified but anyway...this much for now.

Two wars only in heaven. It is always between the angelics. We have nothing to do with it.The first was when Lucifer(Satan) tried to pull a military coup on the throne of God,to which Jesus said "I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning".(Isaiah 14 : 12-16 and Ezekial 28: 12b-17 and Revelation 12 :7- 17) In Revelation ,it talks about his second attempt .When he is thrown back down,he is really mad and the Tribulation begins. But of course Jesus wins in ch.19 we accompany Him but He does it all.
