Can we expect scientific statements made in the Bible to be accurate?

A. "He . . . hangeth the earth upon nothing." Job 26:7. This scientific fact is from Job, the Bible's oldest book.
B. "He . . . sitteth upon the circle of the earth." Isaiah 40:22. The Bible said the earth is round centuries before man found out.
C. "To make the weight for the winds." Job 28:25. Long before scientists knew, God said air has weight.
D. "By Him [Jesus] all things consist." Colossians 1:17. The word "consist" here literally means "hold together" or "cohere." Many Bible translations put it "hold together." This is the answer to the nuclear physicists' worrisome question about the atom. The real mystery of the atom does not involve its benumbing mega-power, but rather, "Why doesn't the atom fly apart?" Scientific knowledge says it should, but it doesn't. Some scientists are wondering what puzzling power, completely unknown to them, is holding it together. The Bible says that mysterious power is the Creator, God Himself.

The Bible is not a science book. and we can expect everything in it to be accurate because it was written by God through men. God knows everything, he created everything, and he controls everything. it is fact, if it is in the Bible.

If you ask this question to a scientists they will ridicule the Bible, if you ask this question to a creationists, they can explain to you how the highest scientist, God revealed a bit of scientific knowledge to the writer(s) of the Bible although they did not have and could not have any scientific training at that time when they lived. But certainly God is the biggest scientist and he can give knowledge to anybody. In some traditions he is recognized as the source of positive inspiration in man and the guiding instinct in the animals.

I wouldn't go doubting your ancestors so much if I were you. They may have been smarter than you think. Do you really believe a bunch of uneducated hebrews that wrote a bunch of fairy tales about people gathering animals to put on a boat before a flood, could possibly mean that no one before them hypothesized the Earth being a sphere? Round means a circle anyway. Whose to say the bible thumpers didn't envision a disc??? Keep searching for some hard evidence - not 2,000 year old scripts that can be interpreted a hundred ways. Science still wins until then.

Of course as u can see the bible has many things stated that has already been proven as fact which helps support the idea that the bible comes from God himself. Many of these things stated were written long before the scientific data cam along.

I cannot say if they should be accurate or not. I would suppose not, considering how far science has advanced since the Bible was written. What are some of the "scientific statements" made in the Bible? You have just listed and interpreted a few very generic passages. Are there any more specific?

No we don't find any scientific statements in the Bible. We only find God inspired words from people in Bible times who God used to write the books of the Bible.
