a day.. too much, to little, or just enough.
Im 5'7 and weigh 125
i work out a few times a week
moderatly i guess. lol.
so is 1400 good or what??

That like is a not enough once factoring in your age if you are under twenty to allow for body growth and development. Also healthy brain development. You have to take that into consideration as well.

its fine, I eat like 1,200 and I am 5'9 and 118 (underweight much?) but yeah thats good

It depends on your metabolism, and if you want to gain, maintain, or lose.

But just take care to make sure you're over 1K, or otherwise, that would be unhealthy.

But it sounds as if you can get along with if you do 2K

I think you should add a little more to be healthier. But dont do too many like 2300 that's way to much for a girl. So you should have about 2000 about.

As a general rule, it takes about 10 calories per pound to maintain your body at rest (that would be 1250 calories for you). On top of that you need to add enough calories to fuel whatever activity you do. Watch your weight. You don't need to lose any at 125.

daily recommended is 2000 for females and 2500 for males

1400 sounds like someone on a diet.

I would think you basal metabolic rate (the amount of calories you need if all you did each day was lay in bed absolutely still) is somewhere around 1300 calories.

1400 sounds way to little, and if you are working out, 1400 is definitely too little and unhealthy seeing as you only weigh 125 pounds.

it depends on your metabolism but that seems right, maybe a little less than what you should get but the main way to tell if you are eating too little or too much is your weight. if your weight stays pretty constant when you eat 1400 calories a day then it is enough. if you are losing weight then you should increase that by about 200 calories a day and if you are gaining then you should decrease by the same.

i'm 5'2" and weigh about 110 and i eat between 1200 and 1600 calories a day and my weight stays constant.

You need a little more. Mayb 1600 cal.
