Want really wouldn't be the word. More like desire or need. For me having children is a necessity. I know right now I am too young but in the future ( probably 7 or 8 years from now) absolutely. I want to adopt my children though. I'm soooooooo excited & anxious. I want to be a mother more than anything. its like a calling or destiny. I've wanted kids since I can remember. I know the whole destiny thing may sound cliche or stupid but its how I feel.
Its fine that you don't want to have kids, you are not the only one & there is nothing wrong with you becuase of that. A child free life is just your preference. But my cousin said that she never wanted to have children & got pregnant relatively young (19 or 20 , unplanned) & as soon as she found out she was pregnant she wanted her son more than anything. But I personally can not wait to have kids!

I'd like to have a child of my own.

Recently I married a wonderful man with 4 kids, and while I love his children very much I still long for a child of my own, and one with my husband.

I can't explain the reasons why, maybe it is the mystery of being pregnant or the feeling of being a parent. I do know that I am very hopeful that I will be able to be a mom one day, and not just a step-mom (which is rewarding, but not the same, as my husband would say).

I am a guy who stalled off having kids until I was 35. I was scared to death to have one. Then we decided to give it a try. I even didn't want to know I was trying to conceive at the time.

Then it happened. I was nervous the whole pregnancy that my wife was going to get hurt, fall or something bad happen to the baby, especially after the first round of ultrasound images started coming into focus.

The big hospital day came, was an all day family affair. All though that experience, that was quite long, 16 hours before it ended in a C-Section, I was scared something bad was going to happen to our son.

He came, and no one young believes me, particularly the Child-free types, but that was so off the chart of experiences, I could try to explain it, describe it, but it was super magical, and all kinds of emotions fired up that stay pretty much with me to this day.

If you think you're ready to have kids, go ahead. If not, wait a bit and think about it. Don't let family pressure you. Once married, they are relentless.

I already have two and am pregnant again (with my last!) .

Its a general 'want' you can't really explain. Its a subconscious thing, biological if you like.
Even when I was a little girl I loved babies and kids and would babysit all the time for people. I always knew I would have children and have them early (my first I was 20) but I can't explain the 'wanting' feeling really.

I do know people though that just don't want kids or never felt there was a good time for them so they didn't have them. Each to their own!

Yea, I wanna have kids. I want to make sure I am financially secure and have spent at least 3-4 years with my husband.
