China is ahead of the US, but the number of hours depends on which time zone you are in the USA. China's time is GMT +8. If you live in the Mountain time zone (GMT -7), China is 15 hours ahead. If you are in the Pacific time zone (GMT -8), China is 16 hours ahead. If you are in the Central time zone (GMT -6), China is 14 hours ahead. If you are in the Eastern time zone (GMT -5), China is 13 hours ahead.

That's at this time of the year. In summer, substract one hour.
