Heya :)

I'm new to christianity and beginning to find His way instead of mine, and His light, instead of the light of the world.

I'm trying to get my facts straight...

My christian camp counselor says Jesus died nailed to a cross and then got put in a cave but he magically came back to life 3 days later and left the cave and was talking to people.

My older brother Wayne who's in trouble with the law sometimes says Jesus was killed in a tragic motorcycle stunt jump gone wrong back in Vegas in '72.

I know one of em is fibbin me...and using logic, I'm pretty sure it's my camp counselor. I think he's trying to test our faith to make sure we're alert for ridiculous stories.

Why's my camp counselor testing my faith?

Fellowship In Christ,
Trevor

Actually your camp counselor is correct!

Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, to bring light to our darkness (figure of speech). He was resurrected from the dead (the Son of the Living God defeating death) and helped redirect the people and raised to Heaven where He belongs.

Your older brother was probably joking or something because the wonderful Jesus Christ came to Earth more than 2,000 years ago. People have been following Him from that day on till this day.

Also, don't live using your simple ways (logic) because God's ways are definitely not simple. The tree on fire without burning (Moses/Exodus), Jesus feeding thousands of people with only a few loaves of bread and fish, Jesus stopping winds at His will, and many more are God's miracles.

Does it count merely like the worldwide looking and guessing? Christians do care and have a activity.. they are lead with the help of the spirit of God....the spirit confirms and renews ones way of questioning. Jesus knew what became in guy from the commencing up of time. no longer something guy does or say is a marvel to God. He stated in case you have familiar me you're able to have familiar the father. humorous those years weren't lost...God is conscious and in case you pay interest i'm particular you're able to benefit knowleged whilst analyzing the parables. Jesus spoke in parables and the beattitudes. He discovered plenty by using remark...bypass determine.

the counselor is just repeating what she has read in the bible - which is a very old book of fairy stories. I mean a dead person coming back to life - thats humanly impossible.

A human being claiming to be god, would not even allow himself to be nailed to that cross in the first place - right?

Your brother sounds right - was that Elvis on the motorcycle or the Ghostrider?

Is your counselor a believer or not? Then if he does saying all the things you have mentioned above then their is something missing with him.

Please be guarded accordingly and read the bible for it will surely show you the right answers to all your queries. And it will enlighten all the things that you have in mind and all the things you have heard. And pray always to our dear Lord Jesus to show you the way and to give you a heart and mind to discern what is place for you to know.

I pray that someday you will see the light; GOD is asking that you have to trust HIM, walk by faith and not by sight.

Please know this fella. Jesus could never have been crucified on the Cross if He had not first taken then away our sins when He was baptised. Everyone who teaches a gospel other than the one God gave (John 3:5), stands against His righteousness and have become His enemy.

When you have joined a church that has been approved by God then you will be taught the truth, and you will know what it the truth and what is a lie. Even when people just open their mouths and speak you will know immediately whether they are of the truth of of the lie. Would that not be great?

You need to find another camp counsellor, the one who teaches the truth. I can lead you to one....just ask:-)

If you are a Christian, I would be curious as to know whom you really think is correct here.....However it is important that you remember Jesus conquered death over 2,000 years ago.
