about a year ago, i found a gray hair in the back of my head. From there it has grown. not all over, but in patches! two in the front above my ears, and in the back where it all began. it doesn't run in the family so thats out. im 15 now, and 14 when it started. how can i treat this? (with out coloring)
any one else have premature gray hair?
or any one know anyone with gray hair?
and if so, what happened or how did they treat it.

My baby brother started getting gray hair when he was seven. I have a friend and she's 30 and she's almost entirely gray. She has to color her hair. I'm lucky like my father, I'm 40 and I don't have gray hair yet and NO I don't dye my hair. My father's 66 and he only has a little gray on his temples. You can ask your parents if you can use a rinse in your hair (it's not permenant hair color) to cover your gray. Happy New Year. 2D

I think it can be a combination of things. If you are very stressed then that could be the reason but if that is not the case, may be heredity. I am 29 and I am salt and pepper. I saw my first gray hair when I was 16. My dad was completely gray by the time he was 35. My 10 year old son has gray hair. I saw his first gray hair when he was 3.

I actually starting with a silver streak in my bangs when I was 14 years old. It was actually really cool looking and everyone wanted to know where I got it done...lol. I told them Mother nature....and they wanted to know where she worked.
I'm now 47 years old...a licensed hairdresser for 30 years....and I don't color my hair. There is something naturally beautiful about prematuring grey. Play it up and enjoy it. Coloring is an option...but it's very expensive to keep up....and definitely not something your want to do yourself. You run a good risk of turning the grey hair some ungodly color if you don't know what you're doing.

This is completely from a male point of view, I in fact have had the same issue concerning my hair. I've been turning gray in patches since my mid 20's (I'm now 50) and totally gray. This works well for the men but ladies seem to do much better emotionally when they simply color their hair. Please color it as close to natural as possible it is so much more attractive than trying to be something your not.

My mother went silver gray at 22 and I have a cousin who went gray at about 16. I don't think it is any thing that you can do anything about other than dyeing it but it can be very attractive if it is left alone.

Dont' worry. You must be stressed out or something. I know somebody that was 14 when she had her first gray hair! Well, I think she had 2 or 3. Yeah. Relax and go shopping!
