CABBAGE CASSEROLES
2 cans cream of mushroom
1 small cabbage
1 small onion (optional)
1/2 cup mayonaise
1 cup grated cheese
2 sleeves Ritz crackers
1 stick butter
Preheat oven at 350°F.
Cut up cabbage as you would for steaming. Put in a casserole dish.
In a separate bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, mayonnaise and onion; pour over top of cabbage.
Mix together melted butter, Ritz crackers and cheese. Sprinkle over top of casserole.
Bake for about 30 minutes until bubbly and brown.

Cabbage Casserole
1 Cabbaged quartered; cored, boiled; then chopped
1 sm Onion chopped
1 Bell pepper chopped
2 Cloves garlic chopped
1 tb Butter
1 pk (8-oz) Velveeta cheese; cubed
1/4 pt Half and Half cream
1 c Bread crumbs
1 c Grated cheddar cheese
Pepper (to taste)
After cabbage is boiled and chopped, in a large Dutch oven, add butter, onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Saute until tender. Add cabbage in and mix well over a low heat. Stir in Velveeta cheese until melted and add pepper to taste. Transfer mixture into a large casserole dish. Pour half and half cream over the mixture but do NOT mix it in. Top with the bread crumbs and then the cheddar cheese. Bake at 350 until brown and bubbly on top!

Cabbage Casserole
1 small cabbage or half a large one
1 med. Vidalia onion
½ stick margarine
salt and pepper
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 can Cream of Mushroom soup
Topping:
½ stick butter or margarine
1 cup grated sharp Cheddar Cheese
1 stack round butter crackers, crushed
Preheat oven to 350ºF.
Coarsely chop cabbage and place in 2 to 3 qt. casserole dish. Chop onion and place on top of cabbage. Melt 1/2 stick marg. and pour over cabbage. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. In small bowl, mix soup and mayo together. Spread over top of cabbage mixture.
To make topping: Melt remaining stick of margarine. In small bowl, mix melted marg., grated cheese, and crushed crackers. Sprinkle cracker cheese mixture over top of casserole. Cover w/ foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes until top is brown and inside is bubbly.

INGREDIENTS:
1 head cabbage -- chopped
2 medium onions -- chopped
3 cloves garlic -- minced
cooking oil
1 stick butter -- (4 ounces)
6 slices bread -- soaked in milk
2 cups cream
8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese -- grated
salt and pepper -- to taste
fine bread crumbs -- seasoned
PREPARATION:
Parboil chopped cabbage in salted water until just tender. Drain and set aside. Saute onions and garlic in a little vegetable oil until onions are translucent but not browned. Add cabbage to onions and garlic.
Add butter, moistened bread, cream, and cheese. Pour half of the mixture into a lightly buttered casserole. Top with half the seasoned crumbs. Pour the remaining mixture into the casserole; top with remaining seasoned crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees until browned, about 25 to 30 minutes.
Serves 4 to 6.

Cabbage Casserole
1 1/2 lbs ground pork or beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 dash garlic powder
1 dash oregano
32 ounces spaghetti sauce
1/4 cup rice
1 dash basil
1 head cabbage
1 lb mozzarella cheese, shredded
Shred, boil 3 minutes and drain cabbage.
Brown onion and meat and Drain.
Place cabbage in casserole dish.
Place meat mixture on cabbage.
Add garlic powder, oregano and basil on meat.
Add spag.sauce and rice.
Layer like you do lasagne.
Top with cheese.
Cover and bake 1 hour at 350F degrees

1 head cabbage, about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds
3/4 cup shredded mild Cheddar cheese
PREPARATION:
Directions for cabbage casserole with ground beef
In large skillet, cook ground beef, chopped onion, and chopped green pepper until meat is no longer pink; drain off fat. Stir in tomatoes, salt, and garlic powder.
Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
Cut cabbage into 6 wedges. Cook cabbage in a small amount of boiling salted water, covered, for about 10 minutes and drain well. Arrange cabbage wedges in a lightly buttered 9-inch square baking dish. Pour ground beef mixture over and around the cabbage wedges. Bake cabbage casserole, uncovered, at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes. Sprinkle cheese over cabbage casserole and bake about 5 minutes longer.
Ground beef and cabbage casserole serves 6.
