Hi there...it is considered legal and many USA high schools and colleges will dissect cats and other animals for biology courses.

dissecting a cat for learning purposes ( high school, college..and the cat is already dead) is a great learning tool.
Dissecting a cat because you're bored, and kitty is still kicking : sick, twisted and one step away from a serial killer.

A while back, my Aunt told me that when she was in High School, they were dissecting poor kitties!!!! She and a couple of other people left the classroom and did not watch the class. In the end, she failed class that day: ( I would NEVER EVER EVER do it, though. Icky. : )

no its not illegal but i think unless it died from natural causes or old age it should be! i know it is for science but i wouldnt be able to!
