Resilience is the ability to adapt well to stress, adversity, trauma or tragedy. It means that, overall, you remain stable and maintain healthy levels of psychological and physical functioning in the face of disruption or chaos.

Here's little test for you:

Yes, I'd say that I am. While many people around me may be freaking out, I'll be the one in contol getting things solved. I have a high pain tolerance and I am very adaptable.

Life's hard knocks are what make or break a person. I think often people become strong and 'bounce back' because there is no other option, it is, as the saying goes,. sink or swim. Specifically if you have responsibilities to others, if you lie down and give up then it has a knock on effect for those who depend on you. I know I 'miss a beat' now and again, but I think I have just become so good at 'keeping on' that people don't even notice anymore. It's not always a good thing. Often people think you are coping so well that they don't stop to think you need a break, or a hand up, it just becomes expected of you.
